Long story short I had multiple bad experiences calling the suicide hotline last night and I want to talk to a supervisor or whoever, who do I call?

That is terrible. Wow. Which organization did you call? If you really want to rattle cages you need to contact the board of the agency and let them know about your dissatisfaction. You should be able to find the exact info online of who is one the board.

If the info about bd members isn’t on the website w the hotline number, google that. My brother has headed a number of boards. If you get a strongly worded letter ready you will be ready to send it once you find an address, and are less likely to let this go. We all get busy.
So sorry you are having such a rough period. Hope you have touched base with a therapist and a meds doctor? Hugs!
Laurie really knows about these things. She has participated at high levels in community mental health organizations.

I am so sorry!

I would make a call and ask to speak to a supervisor and would see where that gets me, if anywhere.

Writing a letter, as Laurie has suggested, may well take your complaint higher. I am concerned that you might not be up to writing a letter? If you are up to writing, it may indeed be more helpful.

I do not know which organization to suggest anymore, as there seems to be complaints about each of them, including those mentioned on TV.

Again, so sorry you did not get the support you were seeking!

Please take care!

It really sucks being fuzzy bear when ....the “experts” perceive me as “the bad object”

Fortunately I’m “mentally competent” and am more than able to comprehend their wrong assumptions about me.

((((((( sad hugs to all who have been harmed by so called “experts” ))))))

I used to volunteer on a suicide crisis line. Google their website, and see if it lists an office number, and the name of the director or volunteer coordinator. A lot of these agencies are staffed by volunteers.

Call during normal business hours and ask to speak to either the volunteer / staff coordinator or director, and take your complaint to them.

How do I get a hold of a supervisor on the suicide hotline

I agree. Really, contacting both the board and the volunteer coordinator would be ideal.

Thanks splitimage, good post. I haven’t had a need to do this, but I’ll definitely bear it in mind
