Alright as an awkward transition. I sometimes say it to myself or others outloud when I am switching activities. For example, yesterday, when I stopped doing my job online I said outloud, "Alright, now I am going to start peeling the asparagus for dinner." I said it as I walked from the room I was working into the kitchen. My daughter was in the kitchen but on many days I would have said it even if she wasn't there! Sometimes I say alright outloud when I have made a decision in my head. So weird! Some days I don't say it at all--other days I feel like I totally overuse it.

I say literally quite a bit as well and instead of based on the research I say some studies have found. I look at research as something that is constantly evolving and not perfect so you have to go back and reexamine what you know based on research periodically.

Healing because without it, I would have never made it this far.

I agree; she knows how to sing and rock!!! Did you know that Gloria Rueben, the actress who played Jeannie Boulet on er, was a back up singer/dancer I think for Tina Turner for a year? Bet she has some stories to tell!

Of course it would be my husband. We have been married 31 years. I am a strange mixture of high and low maintenance--I don't know how he puts up with me but he has hung in there. No other man would understand me as he does because we have been through so much. We have some of the same "baggage" because of what life has thrown our way. I would never want to start over with someone else.

14. When and where were you happiest?
Walking along the beach next to the Pacific...viewing sunsets right over the water. Out with a work crew who were also friends....laughing and just being silly in the best way. |

Hiking the Highline trail by myself and with my friend (who occassionally took me out on dates) in my hometown.
Going on roadtrips to concerts, lakes, swimming holes (creeks), etc. with my high school gfs. Going to a concert was 2 hours away. Riding my bike straight West of the University with friends along a curvey hilly road in the desert viewing the beautiful sunset. Jumping out of an airplane with my University friend. Hanging out by the pool with my first crush and my AFROTC gf at her mother's house. Being part of the military, especially at my first base where I felt completely supported by my AFROTC friend (another friend who also got stationed there) and my whole chain of command. Also, later on when I became an executive officer--I felt so emotionally close and supported by the man I worked for, I considered him a 2nd father. Dating my husband--we had so many adventures camping in the mountains and on the beaches in Mexico! Loved drinking beer with him by the campfire under the stars. After dating him a month, I hardly ever went back to my place. Sailing and scuba diving in the Keramas with my husband. Nursing my children when they were little. Volunteering and substituting in my children's elementary school classrooms. Taking yoga classes with my daughter. She got me hooked on yoga. Walking with my husband (except when we are fighting ) Having my first cup of coffee at my desk in the morning. I am usually the first one up and like the quiet alone time. Talking with my daughter. She always has so much insight and her own unique take on life. When conversations are relaxed with my son. He can be charming incorporates alot of information into his conversations about what he is learning. He is always reading classic books and philosophy. Watching a good TV show or movie on the couch in the evening with my husband. We sit close and snuggle. It usually leads to other things. I like how physical our marriage is. I am a hugger and he is always a receptive hugee. Last edited by TunedOut; Jun 18, 2019 at 03:33 AM.. |

For me this is a hard question. I remember sadness more, as I've had depression my whole adult life. I do remember being happy in a relationship, but that now is triggering. I am also happy on the beach with a camera.
I have a song playing, and music normally makes me happy, but today it's not helping. Mental disease/illness sucks. |

I would love to sing like a pro instead of making birds and planes fall out of the sky.

I don't mean to steal Jennifer's thunder, but singing (tolerably to the ears of others) is my wished for talent. I can play instruments, I've written songs, and I love music, but I can't carry a tune in a bucket.

That would be marvelous @HappyCrafter! I had such a "talent" as a young girl...not so much as I got older!

16. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My tendency to become depressed. Sometimes I imagine what my life/my Self would be like with zero depression. But then, I wouldn't be me, would I? |
