I opened almost all the packages. I have one more left and one box to tear down. I took out my trash and went through my mail. I haven't showered yet but I plan to in the morning. I will make it the first thing I do. Tomorrow, I hope to:

1. Do my emissions test.
2. Take out more trash.
3. Clean off my kitchen table.

I'm really worried about the emissions test. I have the whole month to do it but I want to try to do it early. I want to avoid long lines. There's only one place in town that does emissions. I may wait until Friday. I'm not sure yet. I'll see what my fear level is like. I hope everyone has a good day!!

Good luck with the emissions test! It's nice to get it over with so you don't have to worry about whether or not the car will pass. Yesterday was okay, mostly spent running errands. I worked in the yard and did dishes. These things will never be 'done' and crossed off my list and that annoys me.
1. Dishes
2. Final report
3. Odds and ends from to-do list.
4. Maybe more planting, maybe not.

My brother returned home from the hospital after acute kidney failure and there is so much to follow up on. I’m going to make my top 3 tasks of the day things I need to get done for myself or self care items so I don’t get overwhelmed while working behind the scenes to help my brother and mother with follow ups etc.

1. Master Your Mind program
2. Walk in park
3. Pick up more bananas for smoothies

I hope everyone has a peaceful, productive day.

I'm glad I found this thread - I have been lacking motivation all spring.
I did a load of laundry and folded the clothes that were already in dryer and that I washed today.

In the next 24 hours I hope to finish the report,
Return library books
Make plans to see a friend (I need to connect more)

Yesterday went okay. My client project which has being weighing on me is 100% complete. I will have a lot of time next week to focus on something but I am still not sure what project I should work on.
1. Choose my next focus area.
2. Pick up library books.
3. Dishes

I was pretty lazy yesterday. I am not sure how productive I feel like being today. I know what I will focus on next but I have not started working on it.

1. Take at least one small step towards starting my new project.
2. Dishes
3. Plant more and water.

I’ve been busy the past three days with appointments and business for my mother and brother exclusively. My self care and my business has taken a back seat. I’m also behind in housework.

1. Sit beside creek with Kindle
2. Clean den
3. Rent a good movie

I hope everyone has a peaceful, productive weekend.

I cleaned 2 litter boxes yesterday. I was too tired to do emissions. I will wait until next week. I did a few other things around the house. Today, I am very tired. I will:

1. Clean off my kitchen table.
2. Paint
3. Doodle (my art table is clean).

I hope I can do these things. I just want to sleep. I'm not sure why I am so tired. Yesterday was very stressful. I have a migraine this morning. That doesn't help. I hope everyone has a good day!!

I went to see movie with a friend yesterday - it was nice to get out of the house. I have barely made a dent on my report, so that and clearing paper is my focus for the weekend.

Do you think it's better to set a goal of based on time or amount? (work on it for 1 hour or clear half the paper off my desk, for example?)

Have a nice weekend all.

I’m the wrong one to answer that because I do both at the same time and end up stressing myself out but I wanted to acknowledge your excellent question. Hopefully the others have more wisdom on this then I do.

I hope you are having a nice weekend as well.

I had to take my brother back to the ER and was there for 6 hours before I had to bring my mom home who got sick whilst there. It kind of shot my Saturday full of holes. Tomorrow I plan to

1. Rent a good movie
2. Sit beside the creek and read
3. Go float at the pool

I hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday.

@TJean I will try both techniques if I am having a hard time getting started. Like if I am writing a report, I might decide to write a certain section, write a certain # of words, or write for a certain amount of time. For cleaning, I might set a goal to clear out a certain area or clean for X amount of time. Sometimes I will set a timer for five minutes and see how many items I can put away, like a game. And if I am really resisting work, I will set the bar very, very low: spend five minutes on a task (which often really does turn into 30) or pick up just one thing.

Today I hope to

1. Write
2. Work in the yard before it is too hot
3. Change the sheets

@TJean, I'm not very good at timed goals. Because of a poor back I only work a few minutes at a time. I set my goals based on getting so much done. It may take me a while but I stay focused until it's done. I wish you luck whichever way you decide.

Today I have filled the cat feeders and opened packages. I did clean off my kitchen table and I doodled. It was nice. Later, I will:

1. Read in bed.
2. Try to paint.
3. Play a game.

If there are easy things to do around the house, I'll try to do them. I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!!

thanks Deilla. I have a cat that has urinary inflammation issues who is very sick today, so I'm off to the vet. I'm not going to set any tasks for today or tomorrow as I am feeling very sad and working on breathing and trying to be hopeful he will be ok.

People know me here. I am in a process where I need structure.

Here we go:

-Make a phone-call
- Empty the dishwasher
- De-clutter a table
- Vacuuming 10 minutes on and off (need to rest in between because of asthma)
- Eat and rest in between

I am glad to see that there have come new folks here! Hope everybody feel good!

It's not even 9 AM and it's already been a rough morning. I have low expectations for today. I have to run an errand before something scheduled at 11, have something else at 1 that will probably go on all afternoon, and a meeting at 7. All the space in between goes to waste because of driving time etc.

1. Finish dishes.
2. Work on portfolio.
3. Odds and ends from to-do list.

I love that you kept your task list simple and accounted for giving yourself a break. I sometimes push myself to vacuum or sweep every room and then get nothing else done. Keep us posted.

My cat is staying at the vet tonight and it doens't look good, so I feel like crying all day. I'm going to try to do these things today, with lots of breaks to just breath:
- go through one stack of paper and sort/toss as needed
- clean the cat boxes
-Dust and vaccum my living room
-put dishes in dishwasher

Thanks to you all for sharing yourself here, I'm glad I found you!

I have done everything on my list except the vacuuming. My back was so painful that it was rather impossible.

Plans for tomorrow:

- Shower after breakfast
- Empty dishwasher
- Vacuuming with breaks until I feel it is enough for my back
- Visit grocery-shop
- Make healthy dinner

Peace to those who appreciate peace!

Thank you so much! I used to use My Support Forum before, but somebody trampled so hard on my feet, that I decided to quit. That was a good decision in that particular situation even if I have missed this special "check in" thread, but now I really needed it. And I need breaks because of my back and because I am not so young anymore.

One of my younger relatives will come in near future to install a "self-going" vacuum machine. I look so much forward to that!

It was really helpful to put down my to do items today!

I am having a good day. Yesterday was good as well. I did a lot of self care activities first like floating in the pool, buying beautiful flowers to plant and sitting by a creek reading a book. Just what the doctor ordered. Then I got down to the business of attending to my mother’s and brother’s needs. Today I have already floated and taken a brisk walk through nature. For the rest of the day I will:

1. Straighten the den
2. Go to a movie
3. Take out the trash

I hope everyone is having a good day.
