Sometimes, like now, I wish to have some people to talk.
Lets make a group, or if there is one already made better, to talk ? In short words "people who wants to talk with other people". In the forum, its a bit tiresome, I made some topics but very few people wants to keep talking outside the topics. Its just reply and wait a reply, and people just ghosts the topics, make a comment or more and then leave. I look for something more stable. Any thoughts ? |

This sounds like exactly something I need right now. To support one another....
I was searching through this website tonight for the first time in a while because I'm feeling pretty desperate and the most depressed I've been since starting anti-depressants. I didn't think I'd get back to this point. I'm not coping in ways that I want to. All because I'm missing my therapist who moved away at the end of July. I miss her so much. I never knew I could long for another human so much. I'm so desperate for her and all I want to do is talk with her. I dream about her, and since she was a psychodynamic therapist, I really want to talk to her about my dreams of her. I've never experienced such a loss before (and I've experienced a lot of loss in my life). I am feeling so helpless and am in a lot of pain tonight. I really need some words of support. |

One thing Im really interested is to be able to do voice calls, I miss having a conversation. Forums sometimes seem too distant, and not so rewarding as have a normal talk. |

That's a good idea. Not sure if this forum supports any sort of chat functionality, but some others out there do. In the past, I used to participate in regular weekly meetings, but I guess I'm more withdrawn nowadays.
In any case, just to mention a couple, there's su***deforum dot com, which should come up in a web search. They have pretty regular chats, in addition to the forum itself. There's also SOS, or Survivors of Su***de in Second Life (hey, remember it?) You need a Second Life account and viewer (all free). The SOS group has weekly scheduled chats and other events. The volunteers are really good and helped me a lot in the past. Hope it's ok to recommend external places here... just in case this forum can't do chat. |

Years ago I belonged to a small online forum that had a very active chatroom. I found it sooo helpful- so much laughter and friedndship. My real life friends couldn't really relate to my mental health issues, and not wanting to burden them with it all, I began to feel increasingly lonely during our meetups. But like many online forums it was killed by the attraction of Facebook - something that never interested me.
For me the difficulty is timezone. I'm in the Pacific Time Zone, so I could chat to people in the UK (during the day for me, evening for them). A voice chat would be even better, I doubt I could keep up in a typing chatroom now, so some sort of zoom or skype group would be lovely, but I'm only available to chat during the day, and I have stuff I must complete each day so finding windows of time when someone else is free becomes difficult...I think that's true for a lot of people which is why there are delays in forum replies but there are replies. But if something is found that works - I'm in ![]() Thank you, TabbyCat for sharing that forum info, I'm definitely going to check that out ![]() |
