I'm just tired of living. I'm tired of this life but don't have the guts to take any action. If I told my wife she would take it as I am tired of living with her. That's not the case though. She's currently the biggest reason I'm alive.

I am sorry you are feeling so despondent about living @Humpty Dumpty - that must be a challenge coping with every day.

Some people when they drill down deeper and ask what about life do I feel tired of, find that the pain and suffering that affects all of us makes us wonder. I start thinking maybe there is something I can do to reduce my suffering and pain. I wake up in the morning and I start stretching to get my creaky body going. I try to eat low carb meals because the high carb meals tend to make me sleepy and downtrodden. I try to make connections with pepple online because it helps me not focus so much on what I am going through and develop some concern for others.

What kinds of things bother you the most about your life?

You don't have to explain it to me. I'm not saying that I'm quite as low as you are at the moment, but I grasp your general idea. You're right in how you say your wife would take it, if you told her. I think many spouses would take it that way.

I think it's not unusual to find yourself wondering: "Is that all there is?" Life at times can seem like a dull, tedious existence. It's good that your commitment to your wife is strong, and it brings some meaning to your life. Was there a time when you were happier? If so, what changed?

John Mellencamp put it succinctly "Oh yea, life goes on..., long after the thrill of living is gone. Rock on!"
