I had a bad day yesterday. I found out that I will not be able to work in the shelter for my job like I was promised I could. Honestly I do not think they believe I can handle it because I am so young. When I was hired they changed my job description around and gave me a supervisor and I think it is because of my age. That hurts a lot especially since I really need that shift of an extra 12 hours to be almost full time and so I can quit my other job. Now I do not know what to do.
Working both jobs are killing me. I have no time to myself and I am always running around. However, I cannot afford to quit the job at the mall when I am only working 24 hours a week at the domestic violence center. As it is I do not know if my boyfriend and I can move in together anytime soon...that makes me reallly upset. I just do not think that I will make enough to be able to afford an apartment.
(Big sigh) Why am I doing this anyway...what is the point...

Sounds like a very disappointment development for you. I hope you will be able to take a breather from running around soon.

Ozzie's right. After awhile, if they see you're going to be a reliable employee, they might give you what you want. It's hard to wait (this from Ms. Impatience herself), but mostly I have found even on dark days there is light at the end of the tunnel. I hope things get better for you!

Take Care.

Thanks everyone,
Your kind words have helped a great deal. I realize how whiney that post sounded *L* I just have to start thinking of some coping plans that could help me through this. I know I will especially with awesome friends like you guys!
Its just hard being so young and in this profession. I can understand where my employers are coming from. It has to be difficult for them to think that a 22 year old can do this job well. It is probably instinct for them to handle me with kid gloves.
I definately believe that I am just impatient. I am so eager to get my life started that I want things to happen now. I know that I just have to take a step back and breathe.
