My body is going through the motions of life. I feel more and more secluded from life. The rush of the world continues at such a high rate of speed it is almost overwhelming. I have no desire to catch up with it or even to try. Each new day I wait and pause is this the day things will change? Is this the day things will start to become more "normal"? People around me continue to laugh and cry experience the most common emotions to their fullest extent and take it for granted. This I find irritating. Although I am not sure why perhaps out of sheer jealousy. Why can't I fly through my days on a whirl wind ..and enjoy it? I must continue on for I have no other choice, but the desire seems to be slowly desipating.

Thats a pretty "dangerous" situation in depression and i m not sure what to do to help. Are you on meds ?if so, try not to miss any of it and talk to your friends ,family.

Aw nuts! I was gonna surprise you with a PM, but you posted and now it won't seem like such a surprise... =(

Screw it, I'm gonna PM you anyway, and spare these nice people my reply.

Hey Beth,
I know what you're going through. It's tough. I hope you get help. Check out Chat sometime and I might see you in there.

I wrote you a PM, Beth. It was many pages, but I'll post just a couple of sentences here, because... well, I think this sums it up much more concisely than I did in the PM :P

There's a part in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where two of the characters are talking about the answer to life's mysteries, the meaning of it all, if you will. One character says something like: maybe I'm old and tired, but it seems to me that the chances of finding out what's going on in the universe are so remote, you just have to say to 'hell with it' and keep yourself busy. I'd much rather be happy than right any day.

The other character asks, well are you? Happy?

To which he responds, "No. That's where it all falls down".

Today is perhaps a bit better. No, behindthemoon, I am not on any meds. I have yet to seek a doc. I just can't seem to make that phone call.

I find it hard to as well, but I'll do it if you do. Deal?
