ive been on paxil-cr 25mlg for almost 2 years for my anxiety and depression. i totally quit taking it 4 days ago. i heard stuff about how i shouldnt do that due to things that could happen. i heard many people relapse and get suicidal urges and some are even hospitalized.
i feel as if im going through withdrawls. i feel my body tighten up and jerk every now and then( or so i think thats what its doing) i do have a suicidal past, about 4 years ago i tried commiting it several times. i have a drug history, and im a current alcoholic, so im just worried on whats happening to me right now...

That's right. Cold turkey's not a good idea. Tapering is necessary. In a pinch, Chris, I'd probably call my pharmacist and ask what is a safe way to taper from your current dose of Paxil, if you're determined to get off it. Or, he might encourage you to continue.

Did you ask your doctor if it was ok for you to quit? It's good to work with, rather than against your doc. I don't think you need Paxil withdrawal problems in addition to your other problems. So, this might not be a good time to start thinking that you no longer need your med.

Try to call the pharmacist while you're still feeling sort of clearheaded, okay?

What made you decide so suddenly to stop taking your meds? You and Audieu are right, it's not a good idea to stop taking something like that without doctor's approval and supervision. Please talk to your doctor right away, even if you don't intend right now to continue taking the Paxil, so that they know what's going on and can counsel you on that decision.
If you're worried about interactions with alcohol, make sure to talk your doctor about that too.
*Sending you strength*

I stopped Prozac cold and had the worst headache of my life for 3 days. Couldn't move off the couch most of the time. Then I learned that one is supposed to taper off. Best consult with someone.

What you are experiencing does sound like with-drawal.

Why did you stop your medication cold turkey?

No one should ever do that because you can get extremely sick and possibly crash which isn't fun.

Never do it cold turkey, even though it's too late since you already did. You should only ever get of your medication if your doctors tells you to, so he/she can ween you off the medication properly and onto something else if needs be.
