I'm fed up already... and it's only the start of Autumn, only October!!!!
It's freezing and already staring to get dark earlier.
I'm sat wearing thermal socks and slippers and my toes are frozen. I'm wearing two tops and two jumpers, my nose is bright red! I feel like digging out some gloves 'cause typing at the computer is making my fingers cold..... and it's only gonna get worse!
Sorry for complaining about the weather... such a typically british thing to do.
But, I think I'm gonna really struggle this year with winter. I can't stand being cold and the darkness and bad weather's always depressing.
I'm planning on getting one of those S.A.D lights... I just hope it'll help to some extent.

Well... to anyone who suffered reading all of that, thanks. I can't wait to save up enough and move away... another country. That's my goal!
Molly

The weather in New England (US) is just as bad, cold and rainy and starting to get dark early. I don't like too hot of weather, but cold isn't good either, but living here, what do I expect. The real pain is snow, the walking through it and driving yikes! people drive like ideas on dry roads it gets worse during the winter. You have to do what I do, I use a heating pad all winter to stay warm and use two blankets. I hope the light works for you, let me know who it goes, I may have to try it myself.

Have a great day and think warm thoughts, like sitting on a beach in Hawaii and watching the surf roll in.

hugs
Cindy

I live near Washington DC..............and the weather here is up and down. This year we got hit with a couple of tropical storms.......Now I gotta get ready for fall then winter......My depression does seem to get worse during the low light days of winter. I've heard of those sunlight banks for winter depression. If you get one will you keep me posted on how it works for you? I can't afford one, but maybe with a positive review......saving up for one could be a short time goal..........

At least there have been some days of sunshine in the UK...

I like it to be cold and crisp. which isn't often because the air is usually damp and that makes it feel colder. I like the early darkness, it's the dull days I hate, they really are gloomy...

supermansgirlfriend...i was also thinknig about buying a lightbox this year, until i read info from the company saying that unless you start using it in August or September results cannot be guaranteed...apparently you have to start using it BEFORE syptoms start to set in and before the clock change at the latest for it to work to optimum.

but if you do buy one...best of luck

look, don't let that idea you must start before symptoms stop you from trying it if you feel you have S.A.D. symptoms. it just means it may take a bit longer to work for you.

hang in there, i know it is hard for you folks in the UK and in the NE United States.

honestly, wherever people are, except for few places like California the weather has its share of misery. i live in Texas and we get cold damp winters with little snow - but 1/4 inch of ice on the roads and it turns to disaster-land.
every summer we get days over 100 degrees farenheit and it makes going out like a sauna....it's horrible. i feel like i need two showers a day and still i can feel all hot and sticky...yuk!

still, molly, i do sympathize. it is horrid to feel all cold when you are feeling down anyway. hang in there dear and go make some hot tea and know we care!!
