I just wanted to know how others are affected by it

My fiance takes it and it has been wonderful for him.

I take a smaller dose than he, and I haven't noticed any improvements but I am tired all the time.

Took it before and am back on it - 20mg. per day. I have no tiredness with it and I take it first thing in the morning.

I take it in combination with other meds, but I believe it does take the edge off.

Okay, well I've been on 10mg of Lexapro for over a month now. I just had a doctor's appointment to follow up, because the sleepiness is really getting in my way. I've been sleeping 12 hours/day for the past couple of weeks, still yawning all day, and if I lay down for even a few minutes, I fall asleep. He tested me for thyroid and... something else, I don't remember what. Blood sugar, I think. But aside from the sleepiness, I have to say that I FEEL WONDERFUL. In retrospect, pre-Lexapro, I was jittery before. I feel now like I'm the person I always should have been. I am speaking slower, I don't have racing thoughts (which, I actually kind of got an adreneline rush out of before, but glad they are gone now). And with all this sleeping, physically I feel fantastic and much healthier. I think I had been operating on sleep deprivation for years.

I'll keep you posted with the test results. He doesn't think that the Lexapro, at 10mg/day, should be making me this tired.

I was on it but just got switched to Wellbutrin. Lexapro, apparently, is a common anti-depressant for ED's because it causes some weight gain. I didn't like that it made me really paranoid, manic, and gave me nightmares. These are rare side effects but they do happen!

Well, I got my blood tests back and my thyroid and blood sugar levels are normal. So that means it's either the Lexapro or something else. Don't know. Last night I went to bed at 5pm and got up at 6am. 13 hours. Slept through most of my honeymoon, too

(but I do feel spectacular! I think I might have been sleep deprived before)

Maybe it was just some extra sleep you needed. Nice to see you are doing spectacular.

Well, it is several weeks since I replied to this earlier post - my fatigue from 20 mg Lexapro has disappeared (except for the few hours at night when it helps me sleep. I found that I could cut back on my Xanax and that helped the sleepiness. So, your body does adjust to it and it does help with the anxiety as well. However, I have noticed the weight gain which does not make me feel happy, but better than a little upset over my weight than consideirng suicide from the depression without the meds.
