Hello,
I'm new here. I have been very lonely and looking to feel connected to others who are struggling with similar issues. I especially want feedback on how to get my friends and family to understand. Please help

Hello Blossom, it's nice to meet you, welcome to psych central.
This is a great place to meet new friends and find support, have a look around and jump in whenever you feel comfortable.
There are a lot of resources here that may help with explaining it to your family and friends, though unless they have had some experiences with issues similar to yours it still may be hard for them to understand everything so try to be patient with them. The home page here has a lot of articles that may help you some explain certain conditions or disorders, it may be helpful to print some out and share them with those close to you.
If you have any questions please feel free to private message any community liaison or moderator, here is a link to a list of forum leaders.

I too am newish here haven't posted much been afraid to because never know what to post. But I too am looking for support. I am here if you are looking for a friend. As for others understanding it takes time I have found some understand faster then other some never seem to understand. My therapist helped some with meeting with my mom and I together once I was kinda ready. She also gave me advice for my friends some understand or at least seem to accept it and don't say much about it others I have said little or nothing to over the years and have just let them draw their own conclusions as to how they chose to accept and handle things etc. I don't have a lot of friends. I wish I could help more. I am a good listener though and will be here for you.
