I couldn't understand why my doctor prescribed antidepressants for me until I took myself off them for about 2 weeks. You better believe I am back on my meds because I really, really, need them. I am going through such a rough time right now. I am involved in the church and dare not mention my situation to any of the members. I believe they would tell me that if I were religious and praying I would not be depressed. It feels like I'm traveling through a dark tunnel where there's no escape.

I know what you mean. I didn't think my meds were doing anything until I went off them. Even if they only help a little they definitely help.
I'm sorry you are going through such a hard time. I hope you find some light at the end of your dark tunnel and am thinking of you
Thanks for this!

Brephi, some churches are actually understanding about depression. I know some religions look at depression as sloth but most don't. Try talking to your pastor about your problems. Alot of times clergy people understand and can help you past your sadness.

so glad you are back on your meds. fortunately that "little experiment" didn't last long. you probably already know that the meds will kick back in in a couple of weeks. hang in there and post to get you through. there's a light at the end of that long dark tunnel and you're heading straight for it.
i agree to protect what you're going through cause so many people have no capacity for understanding depression. there's no reason to share that with them. thanks for letting us know what's going on with you.
