I don't know what medz affect you and I was on Effexor for a couple of years and my Docs didn't want to change them. So I stopped and felt OK through the summer and fall but hit a brick wall right around Black Friday. Got good family, A Beautiful Wife and kin but us big guys are to proud to talk about depression because we are not allowed to be down cuz I keep everyone else up. The dayz are growing longer but I still need a good kick in the ***** to get going. I just sit around and think about things that need to be done and get overwelmed and then nothing gets done. I want and think of things to do but man it feels like I way 10,000# 's and can't move... So I SIt Here. It's Frustrating I use to be so active... Tired of Being Tired

Hi Big;
I feel the sameway myself, I want to do so much but I just can't seem to get out of my own way and can't find the energy to do anything. Don't stress out about not getting things done, make a list and try to just do one thing a day or week, even if it's just clearing off a table. Everything always sounds easier said than done, but just take baby steps, and don't feel your not allow to show your emotions we all have them and sometimes we need our loved ones to understand that and give us a little support too. Find a therapist, a group and post here when you really feel the need to talk and let out the pain.

welcome to pc! have you considered going back on an anti-depressant? some have fewer side effects than others. just a thought.
physical daily exercise also actually gives one energy and it jumpstarts the good brain chemicals. ya gota try to do things that can nip this in the bud. your depression is consuming you at the moment and it has a one track mind...to take you lower.
be kind to yourself.

Hey Max,

I understand how you feel... I'm not sure how old you are but you might consider getting your hormone levels checked...your thyroid and your male hormones... There could be something going on in that area that is causing the depression...until then antidepressants can help some people to cope...

Need any recommendations let me know...

Oh, can I relate to you, my friend. I'm on wellbutrin which is a stimulant. I've been taking it since Thanksgiving and for a short time felt the effect of the stimulant but only that it kept me awake. I didn't accomplish anything but I could stay up for 2 days. Now that I'm further into taking the drug I'm feeling exhausted. I don't get it. I took it today at 8am and was taking a nap by 10:30am and slept for 2 hours. Everything is an effort including answering the phone. Most of the time I let it go into voicemail. It's just easier. I know you feel like you have to be macho and it sounds like you take care of people by nature. Just so you know, many women find men who express emotions and expose their souls very attractive. It's not being girlie or anything; it's being honest and your wife will love that you trust her enough to be genuine and let her in. I hope you find something that lifts you out of the hole many of us seem to be in. I emptied the dishwasher today. I consider that a victory. A small one but a victory none the less. Be victorious. You can do it. Keep posting, you'll find lots of support here.

What a beautiful name... Learn to celebrate the little accomplishments... That's what keeps me going!

Thanks, blessings back to you. Day by day, hour by hour or minute by minute, it's all good.

DAWG, I hear you. I can totally relate to where you're coming from. Right now, I'm sitting in my spare bedroom with all kinds of documents and papers on the bed. I want to shred those papers, but I seem to not have the motivation or strength. I am experiencing depression along with sciatica. Whenever I have a sort of good physical day, I plan to do lots of things. Some get done, some don't. Either I run out of energy, lose interest or get depressed.

I know how you feel Bre... It can be difficult. Today I mustered up enough energy to get out of bed and cook a meal...my bedroom looks a mess. I don't have the answers...just trying to push through at the moment... Hope you can push through too..
