I'm not handling this age thing. I thought 45 was awesome. But why when 46 hit I went down. My self esteem, already bad got real bad. I've fought through 47. 48 and October I'll be 49.
Okay, so I've taken of myself. Poor eating habits due to E.D. up/down. I told my okay stay 125. That's good.

Then went big time binge - into a depression. Maintaining - nicely 130.

BUT I can't get myself to do ANY excercises.

The food in take I'm is a struggle. Craving crazy proteins. I'd never done that. Was ALWAYS carbs or NOTHING.

But the exercise there was always SOME.

I tried 25 leg lifts. Felt like cememt.

I don't want to do anything anymore damn it. Other people don't care. Other people accept 'hey almost 50, good shape, had kids, grand ma....

It's always this All or Nothing. I Knew it. I knew it one day. Just one day and Bam it's been several months.

YES, I AM VERY MUCH SO FEELING VERY SORRY FOR MYSELF.
I thought I'd gotten over that pattern of complaining: I'd reached a good weight 125 5'3, 3 1 cup meals a day, no sweets,.... but my exercise went crazy.

This seems to be an big Time Depression, Eating Disorder so I'm going to post this also in E.D.

I NEED HELP. I haven't even been getting out of my p.j.s

Hi starlite. I can VERY much relate to your struggles with exercising and weight. I have been struggling with trying to lose weight for several years now. I tried several diet and exercise programs, but I couldn't stick with them because they were too much of a drastic change from my current lifestyle. It sounds like you have a similar situation...

To me, it sounds like your diet/exercise routine is too drastic a change for anyone to stick with. Three 1 cup meals a day? I don't know anyone who could do that without going crazy after 1-2 days! And the exercises you talk about doing sound very boring.. I couldn't motivate myself to do those on a regular basis either. My suggestion would be to take brisk walks daily as your exercise. 30-45 minutes of walking outside will not only get your blood pumping and calories burning, but will boost your mood and overall energy levels. Once you energy levels go up, you might feel up to switching these walks to jogs. As for eating, I would suggest you eat 5-6 smaller meals a day instead of the three meals a day you're currently doing. For example, instead of eating eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast, drag that meal out into 2 or 3 snack-size meals throughout the morning. You won't have to change your diet too drastically and it'll keep you from being hungry and binging. I've been using these techniques for about a month and a half and I've lost about 10 pounds. I'm 5'2" and went from 135 to 125 lbs.

One more thing... Do NOT beat yourself up if you have a bad diet/exercise day. Just take it in stride and get back to the routine the next day. Even if you have a WEEK of bad diet/exercise days, don't let it frustrate you. You can still lose weight and get in shape... Just get back to the routine no matter what. The results will come in time, but you have to keep at it. And of course you can post here and get all the support and encouragement you need!

Good luck!!!
Thanks for this!

I understand how hard it is not to beat yourself up when your dieting/exercising doesn't go as you planned. I used to be the same way. I'd miss 2-3 days of exercising and I'd feel like giving up on everything in life, and would quit dieting and exercising, insisting that it'd never work. You're only human so you WILL make mistakes and stumble. But, try to use that feeling of "oh I failed today because I ate that huge piece of chocolate cake" to fuel your actions for tomorrow. Ok, you failed yesterday, so be extra cautious today. Plan your meals out in advance and make SURE you don't get hungry enough to binge again! Also, reward yourself when you do well on your diet/exercise plan. If you have a good week, go out and do something fun or buy yourself a little something at the mall as a treat. Ok, enough blah blah blah from me Good luck (again) and keep me updated!

I seriously am going to take the advice you've given me. It makes perfect sense especially about the chocolate cake. I make myself want to just DO IT eat because I know I'm straving my MIND to death - per say

Do you still go through these struggles?

I do still go through these struggles, but not as much. I would do what it sounds like you're doing - eat very little in a day. I was starving myself - body and mind. I was tired, sluggish, cranky, very depressed and felt horrible about my body. But, in the past few months, I've learned to be a lot easier on myself. I eat more food, but in smaller portions and more often. I've also accepted the fact that it's just going to take time to lose the weight I want to lose. So, even if I have a day or two of not exercising or eating really poorly, it won't matter in the long run. I can still get to my ideal weight eventually despite those slip ups.

I'd encourage you to not think of those slip ups as a negative thing or a reason to get down on yourself. I personally think of them as a positive thing. Chocolate cake is YUMMY! You should enjoy eating it! If you allow yourself to take a break from all the restrictions of dieting and really, truly ENJOY that chocolate cake, you will feel SATISFIED when you're done. Then you can move on with your life and dieting/exercise without those annoying craving thoughts in the back of your mind.

Morning,

Sounds like a we could share a cup of tea or coffee right here for a minute.
Yeah, I deprive myself: stay on the pattern, da dah - you know...

That when I finally say that's it - I actually eat the whole thing.

Then it's down hill for several weeks and some.

You're doing good - you're trying to stay on the track we know we're suppose to.

Hope to share this spot of tea again.

Hope your day is well.

Thanx for stopping
