Today was a nightmare. I'll start from the beginning.
I was sitting in Chemisty...just like flicking through my old book, and I saw a load of old drawings. They were done by two of my ex-freinds (would you believe it or not - a couple of the ones that abandoned me after I decided to tell them what was going on in my life as I felt I could trust them with it but they turned on me because im depressing, an emo and an attention seeker), and showed me cutting and killing myself. I cant believe it took me a YEAR to notice them but it still upset me (they expect me to not give a **** about it cus it's old but still...). Well anyway it made me feel like **** so I didnt wanna go to next lesson. I went student support instead and I showed it nthem to let them know why I felt so **** and want to stay in the student support bit for the rest of the day. They decided I shouldd go and see a 'mentor' about it and to check if I could see a mentor...the woman that runs student support took the drawings down to her. Without my consent, this stupid ****ing mentor woman decides to go and see the guy that did it. Later on, just after school, I was standing with my group of 'Freinds' (which includeds that guy by the way) and then NEARLY ALL of them had a go at ME because I ratted on him. >.<. All because I drew a picture of the guy just STANDING on another page, with a shirt saying 'I Suck' - and he was calling me an emo at the time. Still, even if I did just do it to be a prick (which i didnt), that's no excuse for him to draw me CUTTING and being all emo. Apparently, when this woman (the mentor) went to have a word with the guy...she said that I'm 'probably jsut jealous because I dont have any freinds' - surely that's a good enough reason for me to complain ???? GRRR! **** sake. Why is no one at all on MY side ? Im all alone in this now.

Wow, I think that was incredibly inappropriate of the mentor both to show the drawings to those guys without telling you what she was going to do, as well as to tell them that she thought you were "just jealous". I'm not sure how your school is set up but if I were you, I would complain to whoever is in charge of student support. That is an incredibly unacceptable way to handle the situation, especially knowing the student is depressed and not handling it well. Student support services should be there to support the students first, and deal with all the rest second, and I'm sorry that this mentor was so insensitive to the real issue here.
Know that I'm on your side. I know how difficult school can be, it is really not the greatest place for people with mood disorders to be sometimes. I'm not sure how old you are but are you in high school? This is going to sound a little old-hat but high school does end and your experience there won't define you, I promise. Just focus on making it through one day at a time, for now, and keep us posted on how you're doing. ![]()

Who are the mentors at your school? Are they professionals or parents/volunteers? A parent/volunteer is bound to make a mistake you mentioned. I suspect the mentor did not deliberately mean to harm you but she was not adequately trained to do the job. This does not excuse her. Hope you do complain to someone like the principal or someone else who is in charge and understands. These mentors need to be trained better. Other students have probably also been hurt. In the meantime take care of you. People here do care.
