Hopefully I am starting this thread in the right place.
Anyway I just though I would start a thread for any folks who are deaf or need to use hearing aids. I have severe hearing loss myself and have been using hearing aids since I was 4. Their are plenty stories I could tell about the social issues that come with my condition. Non the less I am here to find out what others might have to say. All comments welcome. Thanks for reading.

Hi Ford Puma. I wear a hearing aid. Ive been wearing it on and off for 2 years now. Its still socially unacceptable although i dont know why. If you struggle to see, you wear glasses. Most of us need aids of some sort.

Well I may as well add my two pennies worth, after all I started the thread.
![]() First up... phones. My biggest issue. I can not use them. Most countries have a text relay system for the deaf and hard of hearing alas Ireland has nada. [It did have a minicom system but is crashed and burned] Mobile/cell phones can be used for text messages [A God send] and emails. MY blackberry does a wonderful job email wise. Now how would most off you manage a career where you can not use a phone? Next up, when I get around to it, work!
