Now, it may seem like a long time away, but it's really not. Just hang in there with everything....lay low with the grandmother and mother and try not to put it in there face.

Most likely, the fact that you are taking your care into your own hands is going to upset them and I am almost certain that they will attempt to guilt you into not going, or make you think, in some way, that you are doing something wrong.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ASKING FOR THE HELP THAT YOU NEED AND DESERVE!!!!!

Just do your best to remember that!!!

When we called Host's Mother to tell her the news about Kathy, she told us she is looking for another T.
WOAH WOAH WOAH! BACK UP A MINUET!

Hmm, well you have another month and a half or so before you see the new t right? Maybe you could see this T in the mean time then in october transfer to the one you want. I am not for sure if you are still doing therapy with the old time but if you aren't then going over a month and half without therapy is going to be hard for you all I bet.

Perhaps, but we are still seeing our "terrible T", if you will. We sure hope we get to see the T WE wish to, not the one the MOTHER wishes us to see! We will probably call the mother soon to get this strait. It is eating away at us-as if we don't have ENOUGH on our plate, with poor Kathy...

I don't get why she would go through the hassle of trying to find another T, when it is difficult to find one to begin with and you've already found one you like!

(But on the bright side when you are 18 in a few months you can see whoever you want and if they don't like it they can kiss your butt.)

what i would do is let the mother do what she want sot do - see the T - you never know they could be good - that will keep her happy - then when you are 18 - get the T you want - jmo

I agree with phoenix. A good T is a good T whether you have DID or not.

You have to look at it like this. DID is brought on by severe, long-term trauma. As long as you can find a T who can help you get through that mine field, the healing process will begin whether your T is a specialist or not. The childhood abuse issues need to be dealt with before anything else can happen.

You might want to start making a list of questions you can ask the new T. Kind of like an interview to see if you can work together, what type of therapy are they comfortable with and have they dealt with the severity of DID abuse etc.

Have you thought about what you'll you do if you go to a specialist and they don't diagnose you with DID? Will you stay in therapy with that T if you like them or continue to look for someone else? You might want to give that some thought as well.

Don't worry. It will all work out in the long run.

GO SEE THE T YOU WANT TO SEE!!!!!!!!!

Eriks...you will be 18 by your appointment. You don't have to let your mommy pick out your T's anymore!! You will be old enough to make your own decisions about your care.

My suggestion would be to stand your ground!! Don't back down. If they won't take you....take the bus....get a ride from a friend...call a cab.

I know you can do this. I know you are ready for this responsibility. It's time for you to be a stronger advocate for yourself and let your mother and grandmother know that the days of them highjacking your treatment are over!!

We have to talk to that...thing....one more time-Grandmother said we have to call her and tell her personally, not just call and leave a message. We'd rather just leave a message, but in all honesty, as long as that...thing...is no longer in our lives, who cares, right?

We didn't know where to place this since it has to do with both the Grandmother and T's, so we placed it here.
As you may or may not know, the Mother is looking for T's, despite the fact WE have found one WE like and ARE GOING TO HER AND NO ONE ELSE
Well now we belive the Grandmother may be starting to look into T's as well!
Can't they leave us alone???????
