My name is Erik Muhlheim.
I am 81 years old, and am yet another version of The Phantom (from the novel The Phantom of Manhatten by Frederick Forsyth). I've been with the Host for quite a while, but I have not been comming out much or posting here at all. Since I might be comming out more often now, I thought I might as well introduce myself, and tell you that you can either adress me by Mr. M, (NY)Erik, or E.M., and that I shall be signing my posts by my enitionals. You know what, Eriksplus? Instead of talking to Erik this and Christine that, I would really rather say hello to the 17 year old girl that you are instead.
How are you doing in there, hun? Sometimes I wish I could give you a great big (but gentle!) hug. I wish someone had given me one when I was 17, that's for sure! Take care of you, whoever you are. And, you know... come say hello some time. |

I'm sorry that you didn't feel welcomed Erik. But just know I will welcome ALL of you with open arms! While I do care about the host all of you are equally important!!! Hunny... Kay is not the host...Kay is another Erik... The host has never even been on this site.
Luce, it's fine to want to talk to the host but irl everyone ONLY wants to talk to the host, no one EVER wants to talk to the Eriks, they come on here to be free to be themselves without people trying to get rid of them and act as if their feelings do not matter. The host can get out ANY time she wants, it isn't as if she is being held captive, she chooses not to come out on this site because she cares for the Eriks and wants them to have a place they can call their own. If you wish to speak to the host, please do it more politely. The comment you left saying "You know what, Eriksplus? Instead of talking to Erik this and Christine that, I would really rather say hello to the 17 year old girl that you are instead." sounded very harsh. When E.M. wanted to come on this site and introduce himself and finally start opening up, that comment pushed him away again. Those are the kinds of comments that hurt him and make him not want to come out again. Everyone is kind to the "alters" on this site, any time a new alter comes out everyone welcomes them with open arms. Why is that not the case with the Eriks? They don't seem to get much support on here. Maybe it's because their a lot different than most which scares people, or people just don't understand or care to understand... Either way they deserve to be treated with just as much respect as the host and everyone else on this site! I know everyone probably thinks that this is not my business but the Eriks are very close friends irl and on pc. They have no one but me irl who is there for him and it is seeming like on pc there aren't very many people here for them as well. They are doing no harm to the host, she likes where she is and she likes them having a place to go so why can they not get a break? E.M. I am here for you, all of the Eriks and the rest who are with you! I hope one day people will accept you as I have and see what wonderful people you are! I hope the comments you have been getting have not driven you away and I look forward to getting to know you better and growing out this beard more! Take care!!!

Umm... I hope you don't mind me saying this but alters are usually parts of self. The Erics appear to have come out of a book/play/opera ie they are 'characters.' People are meaning well and are concerned for the host, that is all. Please don't attack!

I wasn't trying to attack pegasus, I understand the confusion but I was simply explaining the situation. They need support and I wish everyone would be supportive of them more. Even if they are split off persons from the host (which I don't believe) they would still need support as well!

Furthermore, your comment "The host can get out ANY time she wants" clearly implies that this is not DID.
Because in true DID, there is NO control over what is happening with the alters or the host. Because the alters were created to do a job and they do that job spontaneously. You can not "make an alter" or "make the host" behave, come out, etc. They do their job. And the host can not "get out any time" because the alters take over naturally and the host usually loses time and is unaware of what the alters are doing. This is DID. Dissociative barriers exist to protect the host...the host can not control any of this without intensive therapy with a qualified T to learn communication among the system. |
