not sure if I understand what you mean to me flashes can be having hot flashes, cold flashes both of which can be caused by aging, medication or flashes can be having flashbacks from a traumatic event thats called having Post Traumatic stress syndrome.

you were 15 when it started what did your doctors say it was.

is it an issue to me having issues means having a problem with something and I cant tell you the answer to that. only you know whether you are having problems handling it or not. and only you know whether its affecting your life in any way and whether or not you want to see a doctor, psychiatrist or therapist for it.

what I do know is that depersonalization doesnt come in flashes. its something you do because of stress, boredom or trauma. depersonalization is when you shut off your feelings so that you physically cant feel. you feel numb, not connected to things and people. example when I m in a meeting and the meeting is real boring and we have been sitting in the meeting for a long time my mind drifts to other thoughts and then I cant feel the meeting table under my hand, my hand feels numb and not really connected to me. I cant feel the chair Im sitting on, sometimes my hearing will fade to where it seems like who ever is talking is whispering when they really are using their normal voice. I also sometimes feel like I'm moving in slow motion. my focusing on whats going on around me brings me back out of it.

Only you can tell if it's an issue or not. Yes, it's cause for concern, but only you know whether or not it's creating significant problems in your life.

Yes it is can be common until you have defused that which you are reacting to. Like the others please go to some one to help you with coping skills. The issue is how does it effect your life. Can you still do things or do they put you out of commision.? And only you can answer that one.

thanks now I'm on the same page as you are. yea feeling like that can be depersonalization but it can also be lots of other things too. suggest talking to your therapist and doctors so they can tell you whats going on for you and how to help you feel better. Sorry you are feeling like this.
Thanks for this!
