Hi everyone! I thought that since I am going to be posting (well some already have) in this forum, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Cris and I have been diagnosed with DID. There are 10 of us all together and I am not sure if there are anymore. After being in the mental health system for a little less than half my life and no one being able to understand me, I finally found a counselor who would not give up on "me" and would stick with us no matter what some of the youngers would do to try and sabotage our therapeutic relationship. At first I did not want anyone to know or even try to help because I was afraid of being judged or even told that my life was a made up lie. There are some professional who do not even believe this disorder exists. But now I think this online forum is a step in the right direction and is a safe place to find support. I know that one of the youngers has already posted in the Garden. Krista is a very trusting and forgiving girl. So much so that she gets hurt a lot. I feel that it is my job to protect her and the rest of the youngers from any harm that might come their way, but I am not able to do that. As the host I feel that it is my responsibility, but I am not sure how to go about doing that. I hear that Mason has posted to the Teen Garden as well. I love him a lot and sometimes I am at a loss how to help him. He is going through a lot of changes/problems right now that he needs to come to terms with and sometimes I feel so helpless. He gets so sad and frustrated it makes me cry. Well anyway, just thought I would share a little about myself and a few of the wonderful parts of me.

Always,
Cris

Hello Cris. Welcome to PC. We are glad you are here. We like it here a lot. Like you, we have been in and out of the mental health system more than 1/2 our lives. We find it nice here, and think you will like it, too. Maybe we will see you in one of the peer hosted chats soon. They are a great place to let everyone be heard. Nice to meet you.
