Do the hosted chats still run? I looked on the sticky and saw that bipolar_bear wrote "If you are looking for a specific DD chat please look up at the top tool bar that says chat and it gives a schedule for the peer supported chats" but I can't find where it is

That is a good question. I would like to participate in a DD chat if and when there is one. If you find out, please let me know. Thanks.

Yeah. I haven't been around for a bit. Last time I was on here I think it was The Crew who were doing it, and maybe somebody else too. I know that _Sky did some kind of dissociation chat, and Rapunzel did some DBT chat hosting ...

Looks like Crew has started hosting those chats again on Thursday nights. Here is a link to the Chat announcements subforum:

hi silver queen, nice to see you again.

when you sign in to pc, just underneath where it says Welcome, silver queen, there is a blue bar with some menu options. one of the options is calendar. you can go in there to see when the chats are on. i know crew runs a dissociative disorders one, darkpurple secrets runs a grounding skills chat as well as a survivors of abuse as well as live the life you imagine (wow she is busy). jewels runs a positive affirmations chat. lol there are lots of others but too many for me to list.

they also often put a reminder of their chat (but not always) in a forum under community feedback & technical support/chat announcements. there is a time converter you can use to see when the chats are on in your local area lol but i can't remember where it is. you could probably google a time converter.

Thanks Sabby and Dinosaurs . I looked at the calendar and found there is one on Thursday night for the DD chat . It says the one on Wednesday is inactive - does this mean it doesn't run anymore?

hi silver queen,
also, on mondays, wednesdays and saturdays at 7pm eastern there are support chats by darkpurplesecrets about healing from abuse (it will be towards the bottom of the chat rooms--she will create a room for each support chat). i usually just go to the lobby then swing on into her chat room. don't think it will be listed in the pull down chat menu.

if she doesn't mind my saying, she's been "under the weather" with a winter physical ailment lately but will be back with us shortly. i can send you a sample chat outline (no conversations, "just" the outline of the chat topic for that night). some previous topics are:

coping with memories
creating safety
hope and healing
perseverence
physical boudaries

etc. if you would like one i can send. or just write a PM to her directly and she will be happy to send some to you to get an idea about her wonderful chats.

pleast take care.

I remember you Silver Queen, didn't you used to co-lead a DD chat with Zorah?

Those were really great chats. I miss them and you. I think they morning DD chat helped a lot of people on the Europe-side because it is a better time.

Have a good day.

Yeah that's right Hunny, I did co-host with Zorah. I'm glad you found the chats useful. I can't remember why I stopped hosting them though and how The Crew started doing them - were all the chats cancelled at one point by Doc John? Did The Crew volunteer to do the chats? I have the impression I might have been to some of their DD chats when I was last around at PC but I'm not sure

Silver,

Will you host again? I don't know where Zorah went and I don't know why you stopped. Have you heard from her?

Three of us tried to keep the morning DD chat going but I had to go back to work and I'm not sure where the others went. I think it was Jewels and White Iris but I have no idea why they stopped. Life happens you know.

Someone opened some kind of group somewhere but a few people left, including me, so I don't know how Crew got involved. You may want to PM her to find out.

How's university? Are you attending locally or out of country still?

Hi Hunny,

I would consider hosting again assuming I have the time and a suitable time for other people. That's not a promise though haha. And so many people here are new ... And to be honest I don't know why I stopped hosting the chats too. Didn't I announce it? Was it abrupt? Didn't I tell anyone? I really don't know why I stopped it sorry ... I had the impression that The Crew took over from me but maybe they hosted before me? idk

Anyway yeah, I am back in the UK now and at uni ... changed my subject though, I'm doing science now lol . How have you been?

I forgot to mention it in my previous reply, Hunny. Zorah is currently in hospital due to her physical health. She was admitted last week I think. I don't know how long she will be there for ...

Silver, you are gentle and we appreciate that about you (all the internals). I don't know what happened, except you were going home to England or somewhere else. Then there was this group and it was private and I felt uncomfortable and then I was on this forum here and then new people started coming as well as some leaving. Do you remember Multi Pixie? Well anyway, where are they now? Makes me think they got busy. Did you hear from TheCrew yet? I get so tired I am unable to attend chat much but here is hoping you can be involved again. How do you like your new major?

Sorry to hear about Zorah's hospital stay. It sounds like it's a few steps ahead and a few steps back. Hey! didn't her she just have a new little one (granddaughter) before you left. I've just had a new little one (granddaughter) recently too. Lots of fun, Yeah!

Thanks for the compliment Hunny

Perhaps i did stop the chats when I moved back to the UK, idk, it sounds possible. I recognise the name Multipixie but nothing about them. Did they host a chat? i haven't heard from TheCrew. I was hoping they would post on this thread but it doesn't look like they will and I don't want to PM them just to ask about how I stopped giving the chats. It isn't that important. Are TheCrew still around?

I'm sorry you're so tired that you can't attend chats. It sounds like you're being overworked. Don't let your employer pressurise you to work too hard by making you feel indebted to work longer because of the financial situation. I'm not suggesting this is happening to you but if it is then they shouldn't make you work all hours because of it

You are right, Zorah does have a grand-daughter. Her son travelled across the country a few months ago and Zorah was able to see her grand-daughter for a week. She liked her, but found her tiring, lol. I'm glad you've got your own grand-daughter too. I hope you're able to see her often.

it would be great to have a dd chat at a time that is not middle of the night in the uk(the crews is at 1am gmt!), maybe a late morning one or early evening would be fantastic if you were to start again silver queen
yours is still on the calendar but says its (ermm sorry brain gone blank) discontinued or something like that

Silver,

Wow, so much to talk about...all I remember back then is a bit of a blur due to so much going on, internally and well here on PC.

But, I like Teds idea. I'm not really over-worked just tired after it (work), which is sort of how it is supposed to be, I thinkin'. Neither of the chat times are great for me. I always thought they could have several going throughout the week to meet the needs of all the areas of the world. Tis a big, big world.

It really did help a lot of people timing-wise to have one mid-day, especially Europe-wise. Also, they would be very lucky to have you lead, Silver, but I understand it would have to fit your schedule, too. It think you need to talk to somebody, like one of the admin people, maybe Bebop or? It's written-up somewhere. If I was on a day-off I would come to your chat too. Sometimes I get to Crews. I think I went late last week but we had fun, talking about things alters like to talk about.

Silver, i is so nice to know you and see you back here.

Yellowted and Hunny, thanks for the encouragement and support I suppose the revival of the daytime chat is something to be considered. I think, were I to host it, that it would be more likely to be on morning (11am ish UK time)or early evening (16-17h ish) on a Saturday, or possibly Sunday mornings. But of course this is not definite. I have not discussed it with admin and I don't know how popular this chat would be.

maybe it is a question to ask people, if they want a uk daytime chat, and if so which of the times you could do would be best for them.
I for one would definitely be up for joining it and any of the times you suggested would be fine for me!

Cute, Yellowted

Silver:

Would it be fine to join in even if it isn't a person who lives in the UK, then likely some would attend from North America, if it were okay time-wise, weekend or other...

I consider, even if one person shows up, kind of enough but of course it may be that comfortable for everyone.

Actually there is already a DD-chat with a reasonable UK-time on the chat calendar:
Wednesdays 12 PM - 1 PM. This is 5-6 PM UK-time.

Unfortunately the chat is inactive at the moment, because Jewels can host this chat only on an irregular basis.

John

Maybe, Yellowted, Silver could look at her schedule and see if it is a good fit for her time-wise. Perhaps you could chat with her about it, with no pressure.

i would love to but do not feel i can help others when i am not not being helped myself with my dx, i have dissociative motor disorder which is unheard of in most places and in most others is lumped with other dissociative disorders under the umbrella of conversion disorder which are completely different so have completely different problems associated with them, my problems are mainly 'physical' ones which aparently aren't physical but mental manifestations brought on by the so called un expressed emotions of my past so i do not qualify for help from adult services who deal with physical problems i am being dealt with under mental health who have no experience of my dx or the physical problems i have so they are not helping me at all with the things which are causing me the greatest stress, i do not have alters, fugue,or any other symptoms of dissociation and have yet to find another person with any experience of my dx anywhere in the world so have no one with whom to compare or discuss my problems with who understands why i can't get my house adapted, have only been given half a ramp and a bath lift but no way of getting upstairs to it or to my toilet!! who understands my disgust at being told to empty my comode down my kitchen sink.....i am living in worse conditions than most did during the war (second world war) all because my dx is one which usually gets better within a few months, yet i was dxd 2 years ago and my condition is still deteriorating! Until some one has the gumption to say it has been with me too long to improve i am stuck in this situation of experiencing all the difficulties which any paraplegic faces but without the adaptions needed to support me. on those grounds i have to use my little energy to look after myself and do my own fighting! sorry if this sounds selfish but i have to look after me as i have no family and no one else is here to support me (ok i have a PA for a few hours a week, but my care team think i shouldn't even have that)
