I have a friend on another website who has an insider with them who "has hair all over them and this insider is very primitive and when they are out, they kind of prowls around and grunts and drawls a lot. They also obsessed with the moon and keeps seeing if it is full. They don't talk but she chants in another language when feeling overwhelmed."
I suggested that maybe this insider could possibly be an otherkin. Does this sound like it could be an otherkin to you? Why do you think otherkins are created in systems? It sounds so strange to say that a person can have an insider who is an animal or a spiritual being or whatever, but I can be real because their is a cat in my system... how does that work???

Quote:
children are very creative, imaginative people who base their heroes during traumatic situations on what their belief systems, environmental exposure, religion, cultures are. example children raised in the native american culture will naturally have alters that reflect their native american history, culture, and belief system. look around here on psych central and you will find there are a diverse variety of alters. some bears, wolves, birds, alters named after cartoons, book and famous play characters. I had an alter that was a spin off from our family's german shepard as a protector alter. DID alters can be anything and any one that which the host needs them to be in order to survive. ![]() |

I believe amandalouise is right. Whatever or whoever is needed is created by the child. Children draw from what they know just like she said. Great insight amandalouise!
