hi -- i just wanted to introduce myself here.

i was diagnosed with DID last year, and it has been a rough journey since then. i am an incest survivor as well as a rape survivor, and i think my DID is the way i survived those decades of trauma. i also have an eating disorder, which still helps, but is a lot more harmful. there are lots of little girls inside of me who need to eat and need to talk and i have a really hard time with all of this, especially since i feel pretty isolated. i feel like no one gets me except my therapist (who we see three times a week most weeks) and our godmother. i am still getting triggered and switching a lot, and it is very frustrating to not be able to be self-led (which is my goal). i hope that by being on here, i might find some company for me and all of my parts.

Welcome Blacksheep17. I like your nickname and you could have been writing about me. It's refreshing to learn others have similar situations and that I am not alone in all this. I too, want to self-lead and not be subject to a dissociated part leading. I am finding DBT (Dialectal Behavior Therapy) is helping me.

Thank you all so much for your sweet welcome messages.

I have been avoiding people in general for a couple of weeks, which is why I haven't been on the boards, but I think I need to talk to someone.
Thanks for this!
