I have DID. My therapist suggested that I try talking with other people who are also dissociative. It gets very lonely in here. What do I do now and do people find this to be helpful?

Welcome!

I think you will find a lot of helpful, kind and considerate people here who deal with the same issues as yourself.

You might get a better feel for what Psych Central is all about if you take your time, maybe do some reading, ask questions if you want.

We'll be here when and if you're ready.

Welcome Iamanne-
I find on line support and therapy groups very helpful. on one level I get to write (which I love to do) all those things bouncing around my head from DID when I want to. Sometimes one out of 10 people may read what I post and tell me that what I have posted has helped them. And on another level I read what others write and I don't feel so alone no matter if I post or not. Sometimes someone else is going through something that I am and what they have done to help themselves I try and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but all that matters is that I gave it a try. Sometimes my being in online therapy and support groups helps me in real time therapy process too.
