I have an angry part that just doesn't have any social skills. Went to one of those home parties--a jewlery one and the only reason we went was because we haven't seen this friend in awhile. Anyway. Was seated on the sofa between 2 people we didn't know in a space that there was no escape route and well, very triggering. 12 women we didn't know were there. Insecure part comes out (calls herself "Nobody") and then after a stupid game we can finally escape to say hi to our friend. Then she asks how our Sign Lang. class that we are teaching is going...Amber shot off her mouth and critisized how a student was not signing how we were teaching....blah, blah...
I am so embarressed and so sorry I ever went. The student and parent Amber blabbed about happen to be good friends of our friend...S**T

Now we are all feeing very insecure and very vulnerable AND we are going with H on a couples retreat this next week...at least we know a few folks and are good friends with them...but....CR*P

That's definitely embarrassing! I don't think there is anything you can do about it now, though... just hope your friend doesn't talk to the student's parents!

I hope your visit with your h this weekend goes more pleasantly, hope you enjoy it!

hi W_I,
I too have an angry bit................Adele, and she used to say exactly what she thought when she thought it. Oh it was awful sometimes and like you I felt worried about what people will think. Anyway, we are managing to control it now, it does get better.

Maybe you could say to the person that you got a bit worked up and didnt mean to go on?

I'm so sorry that happened. Perhaps you can tell your friend that the studend had really upset you and that you felt comfortable enough with her that it just spilled out of you....

I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs,

Jan

what would you think if another told you the same? I know I have been imbarassed many of times wanting to take back words that seemed to be coming out of my mouth and yet they were not my words. Yuk! But many a times I have to say even though I was shocked and wanted to grab back all the words I was glad to hear them cuz atleast someone had the guts to talk truth.
It is way different then when I blurb out something I wish I could take back.
