Thak you both so much,
It has been hard on us With T cause there has only been female T available. But I just found out that they have some new Male T's.

Some how they felt that I could only work with a female T and that is just not happening. We went to the supervisor and asked for a new T. At first she wanted us to switch back to the TGC which has been around here for years but we never really had any luck with them.

She asked why we wanted a male T, the simple reason is that we have been hurt by both male and females in the past. But those within are more able to accept a man as an individual the a women. Those within can just not understand how a woman can hurt another woman the same way a man can. The thought of going over memiors volentary in a closed room with a female T just sent us truama switching. Needless to say therapy was not helping us heal it was just sending us backwards.

Now that we can see a male T and have Sasha with us we hope those within will not be so scared of the past.

That"s interesting, cuz, for myself, I could only work with a female therapist(expert in traumatic stress). I could not do the man thing. I tried and tried and tried. The men therapists kept zappin me out. I was like, man, this is not good.....then oneday my prayers were answered and didnt even know it. From that point on....it got real real, real quick, inwhich is a good thing!!!!!!!

As the saga continues for the next 5,6,7, years, I was finally able to work with a man therapist on certain issues that needed to be addressed. It was made possable, because of the work I had already accomplised AND he was the husband of my primary therapist(what a blessing that was, group therapy).......trust....I trusted him...man, that was/is the hardest thing I ever had to do. This happened around 4 years into the intense outpatient therapy with the woman.

All this work has paid off, litterally. I got my dog. The ole' man. A german shepard. I went from 10 years of homelessness.....to homeowner.....yes....homeowner.........as the saga continues........sparrow

and a special shout out...for those therapists/experts who truely understand D.I.D......and have the time and patience to work with us (D.I.D. er's)....and definately understand that this thing takes time....and that there is no "quick fix".....hooorah....to ya'll

Thanks blossom and sparrow,
My new surport group is working wonders for us. On of the groups questions was "How does a T help you?"

I really could not think of very much positive from those here in Az. But when I thought back to the T's that helped me before we moved out here. The list was very long. The main thing was that they accepted us and did not Tell us we could not do things, nor did they tell us that we were having flash backs or listening to gossip.

They had vailidated us and help us become stronger to protect the whole. My favorite one was a male and he used Thought feild therapy with us.
He tought us to use the matra
"The stupid Son of a ****** or ****** was just doing the best he/she could do with what they had to work with"
He helped us to learn that we be safe .
It just never went all the way for those within to trust female T all the way. Went to them when we had to but it always felt like a battle feild.

Just wish that we had more good T's for DID"ers then we got right now.

Sorry we be busy with the new group.
we are now in ritual abuse surport group.
the big plus is that everyone in has DID!
we are so lucky that this is a first in 13 years that we got the help that we really need.
keep safe we will try to come back more often but we are doing so much work that we are tired.
