This has been wandering around for me since I've been told. Carina's friend Samantha and I were talking a few months back, and I told her I don't truly have anyone to care for or any deep setted emotions. She said that's certainly not normal, but now it's so old and I never got around to asking why it's unsettling. Not to mention my teenage years are gone, due to an incredible migraine Carina and I shared over the summer of 2011. Is it normal to feel so disconnected when you're a protector? I can't begin to grasp how someone does there job if they put ALL of their emotions into it, honestly.

CaritheBunnie, I am not sure I am understanding. If you are talking about an alter who exists to protect; I can tell youthat my protector(Sgt Major) FEELS VERY LITTLE. It would make it harder for him to protect us if he had feelings. We/I like the fact that he is unafraid.
Lost time is a symtom of DID as is headache. That might explain your teen years. We/I have very little access to those years. You might want to ask a proffesional care giver about these things. |

we cant tell you if its normal for you, we can only tell you if its normal for us. for me yes it was normal for me and my internal system to feel this way for many different reasons. sometimes it was because I wasnt getting enough sleep, or enough to drink or enough food, sometimes it was because of the kinds of medications and health problems, and sometimes it was just how I was that day for no reason other than thats how my body was. your treatment providers can tell you if feeling this way is normal or not for you and why. |
