Hi, I take a medication called Clozaril This is an anti-psycotic mainly used to treat schitzophrenics I am on a very small dose, it seems to help me think a little clearer. I have to get blood drawn often because of the risk of a decrease in my white blood cell count. is any one else taking Clozaril and how are you doing ?

I have been taking it since 2007 for bipolar. It works really well for me. If I am late getting it refilled I start getting manic when I have been off it for 3-5 days.
You have CBCs drawn every week for the first six months, then every other week for the next six months and if all is well you can then go to just having CBC drawn once a month.

I have been taking Clozaril for about 17 years...I have been on doses as high as 800 mg a day. I went off my meds last march. Was put back on it this March...except I now only take 50 mg.That's all I need. My new Psychiatrist keeps insisting on increasing dose.... Yea because I was off for 6 months my labs are weekly....The only problem is that my diffrent alters have different CBC's and it confuses every body involved.
