Summer for me implicates been more lonely, I work during the year and have 2 month off.
Our system is feeling like out of place even in our house. What I should do, so the alter that is the leader of the group don't harm us. genn |

Would you like to continue working with children through the summer? Maybe you could find a summer camp, youth group, or somewhere like the Y that you could work or volunteer during the summer months.
If you enjoy getting a break from the kids, then maybe the summer could be a chance to do more of the fun things that get put to the side during the school year. You could make a list of museums, zoos, parks, and restaurants that you'd like to try in your own city, or in surrounding cities. Then you could try visiting a couple a week. Do you enjoy flowers? You could start a garden in your yard, or make window boxes if you are in an apartment. Taking care of my garden takes as much of my time as I want it to, and feels very peaceful. I hope you get to enjoy your summer. ![]() |

I understand the need for a break from the kids.
![]() Do you not have enough adult interactions? Maybe you could use the summer to work on meeting some new people? Or, if you have any family members that are safe, that you are friendly with, you could use the break as an opportunity to visit more with them, or invite them to visit you. |

what I can do is tell you what I did in this kind of situation... the first thing I did was contact my treatment providers and discuss whether there is a danger coming up and how best to deal with it.. my treatment providers and I made safety plans that would keep me and my internal alters safe during dangerous times.. those plans were things like contracts, removing sharp objects, having places and people to go to during the peak moments such as inpatient care, camp out on a friends/relatives couches so that if I became unstable they could do what needs to be done to ensure my safety including hospitalization needs.... again only you, your internal system and treatment providers know how to best handle your unstable times of an alter harming you.. suggestion you might want to contact your treatment providers, let them know of your concern and discuss how to best approach crisis times like this. |

Hey genn,
How about checking on an elderly person, that way someone else outside your body is "needing something" which helps keep the insiders at bay. I'm disabled and I am home ALL the time and I mean I tell you we have so many projects going on. If you have inside kids allow them to play and my system even has a log as to who want's to do things outside of the system so we do that. We just have as many projects we can going. Gardening is wonderful b/c it is grounding on top of the results you get. Don't let yourself be unbusy. Just some thoughts, ![]()

I agree about the gardening, especially with fruits and veggies. Home grown food is always good. One suggestion I have is to look into a pool membership (if it's cool with all within and your care providers). Around my area, they run rather cheap: about $60-$100 (U.S.D.). Swimming would be good for exercise and adult interaction. You could see other adult pool regulars, and get some sun and fresh air.
Good luck, Nina

Our system decide to start with a Summer online Diary, there we check each morning , what they would like to do during that day, or check online for books or other things.
So far each one wants to do a different thing, so far I've been occupied, the core alter don't want to be part of this so far, hope she join us for the safety of all. Thank you for all your support and ideas genn |
