I'm sure one of my parts will come back to fill this in. For right now being DID isn't fun, but I know one of them has a million of these.

When you try to go run errands or go to work and run out of gas on the side of the road because someone else decided it was a good idea to go joy riding or something the night before.

You know you are DID when: someone keeps yelling your name and finally walks up to u and screams, didn't u hear me call u? even though at the time u are wearing a name badge, you reply, You didn't call MY name !!!

Or when someone takes u to a store and u stand looking around and have NO clue why you are there and how did u get there anyway

Or when u leave ur house to go to a destination and return 7 hours later - NEVER getting to where u were suppossed to go (WORK) but not really knowing what all you did that day - that is just weird

I'm sorry pegasus that you're offended, I don't think anyone is making fun of DID, I think they're trying to be a little lighthearted about the darkness. I've seen these on other boards as well. Maybe you can try to avoid this post if you're offended?

peg... didn't mean to offend - we all have DID here and sometimes u just got to laugh or you would cry at everything - this was just meant to be a fun game

you walk into a room and forget why you went there

you can't find the item/ headband/house keys/clothes because one of your alters hid it on you

your husband is all intimate and overly cuddly and it just plain annoys you

you change your outfit 2-3 times in the 20mins before you go out

you don't understand it when someone says your intimidating and it hurts your feelings

someone says don't look at me like that, like what?

when someone is talking to you, you have no idea what they just said and struggle to remember what they said

When you walk out of your apartment and think "where did I park my car?" and the immediate response is "wait where did I go last?" And you haven't the slightest clue to either question right away.

When your maintenance man comes to fix your air conditioner and after he leaves you notice your my little ponies sitting out on the bed. You start concocting plans in your head of reasons why my little ponies would be out on your bed that don't include anything like "I have small children that live inside of me".

When you spend an entire week living off nothing but fruity pebbles. The little ones have reign.

When you find a dora the explorer ring in your bed, well used and your immediate response is to start questioning your level of coconsciousness, but you find out you picked it up in the laundromat washer. Phew.

When everybody calls you a liar, but you've never lied.

I think this is a good thread. I mean if you look around PC, a lot of the other forums have done this. Like borderline pd, for example.

I don't think we're making fun of DID, we're laughing at ourselves and the situations we've encountered because of our illness. The lighthearted ones. Because there are a lot of not so lighthearted ones that I can't even mention on this board.

I always found it weird that all of my parts respond to the hosts name. It's been a survival mechanism in keeping my DID a secret though. I don't even know any of my part's names. Except once I took a lot of ativan and somebody spilled the beans in my journal. (drug assisted interview on my own). The part wrote "It's Joe Joe here". I don't remember any of it. I have short term memory loss from the drugs. But we all respond to the host's name. I've found other people with DID prefer to be called different names.

Sorry that you are offended... I wasn't meaning to sound as if I was making fun of anybody :P I have DID myself, so why would I be trying to make fun of myself?

There's nothing wrong with looking at the bright side of things... DID doesn't always have to be so negative and depressing! People live with it, but should they always be depressed about it? I don't think so :P I made this so people can not feel so bad about themselves and look at the funny side of things C:

Lydia B I'm that way too. I've always responded to my name but I do have many nicknames from my first name such as Lou, Lu Lu, Louisiana, Louie, Lois. I find also get ticked off when other people have my name do you think it's because I think its what makes me me?

We learned at a young age that you have to respond to the cores name even if that is not who "YOU " are . Once when we were about 8 years old we were in school and a teacher kept calling our " name" and we didn't respond because a different part was out and it wasn't her name being called so she did not reply...long story short they gave us a hearing test LOL!!! BUT the name of our host can be triggering....And ha most of us would prefer to be called by our own name but that would only draw attention to our core and hurt her

You're discussing make-up with a friend and you stop to ask your friend why they're looking at you funny... Then they respond with a, "You hate make-up!"

You find yourself happily cleaning every room in the house! ...Only to stop half-way because you suddenly HATE to clean... So you go ahead and draw instead! Cx

You know you've got DID when you refuse to go to shopping centres because there are so many choices and to many strangers who may either make you cry/laugh/get angry at.
At times I hate those people who stand in lines and bicker about the wait or the check out person BUT at times I find myself doing that then I feel guilty about it

You know you've got DID when you tell everyone your having a baby girl and tell them not buy her everything pink and then (a) get the shits because theirs no pink (b) go buy her pink for yourself and when they comment about how much pink she is in...(a) feel like a fraud or (b) don't remember it but their saying I did say it or (c) wished they would just **** off and stop thinking they know me

when you have two of those breakable ice packs in the middle console of your car, and two more in the trunk, because you use them to ground yourself so you don't end up in an accident.

When your niece changes her hamster's name 15 times, and you still think it's name is the first one. You've missed the other 14.

When it takes you two years to learn 14 kid's names. To be fair the names weren't things like "suzy" and "bobby". They were hard names!

When you're six year old niece is shocked that you're actually 24. She thought you were her age. Straight up. This entire time.

When your dog gets sprayed by a skunk and you want so badly to dissociate and let someone else take over, but the smell grounds you too much. (happened last night)

You know you've got DID when you can't remember any episodes of Elfen Lied or Chobits because animes are one of your alters' triggers.

You know you've got DID when you walk out of class and suddenly don't remember any of the material or what the homework is.

You know you've got DID when you end up drawing full out art instead of that funny little stick figure comic you meant to draw.

You know you've got DID when you're mysteriously broke and there are two new dresses you've never seen in your life folded up neatly in your dresser drawer.
