I've had dreams throughout my life that I think I may have met my alters. I'm not sure because I really don't have anyway of communicating with them ( other than my dreams). One dream ( could be triggering ) was when I was about 10 or 11. I told my teacher I was going to the bathroom when I saw a house across the street. It was a very small house, but then it had a barn next to it. I decided I was going to ditch school and see what it was all about. I went near the barn, when I heard a little girl's voice. I went inside to find shelves of toys and a bed, a bathroom, a T.v, basically everything that you would find in a regular child's bedroom. Anyway, I decided to take a look at everything when I heard her call from behind.
"What are you doing?" she asked "Uh...hi!" "Hi. Are you here because you want to play with me again?" "Um.. sure!" "Ok great! You left me here for a while and I started to get lonely..." Then we played for a bit and we had a lot of fun. She told me what happened when I was " gone " and we did a lot of other stuff. It started to get scary. I heard an angry man's voice from far away when she jumped up in front of me. She started shaking when the man starting yelling, saying things like " Who are you talking to! I told you that you weren't allowed to have friends over! NOW YOU'LL BE SORRY".... Then she said: "Go inside the bathroom! Lock the door but keep the light on! Hide behind the toilet and you'll be fine!" "But what about you-" As the sound of footsteps got louder and closer, she took my arm and she threw me into the bathroom. Full of fear, I locked the bathroom door and I hid behind the toilet like she said. Then the man came in, and this is how they talked... "Are you being defiant again? It would sure be a pain to have to be hit again, now wouldn't it?" "No daddy... I'm being a good girl... no one's in here... "Then let me see who's in the bathrom > ![]() Then the girl screamed no and he beat her up until I couldn't hear her anymore, and then he started coming toward the bathroom. He was screaming WHOS IN HERE for about 10 minutes and that's when I woke up. Weird right? The second dream is on one of my other posts for dream interpretations. I'm feeling type- lazy right now so yea xD Have you ever met your alters in a dream? |

here in New York treatment providers when ever I have dreamed about my alters they have call this by many names....normal dreaming, delusional dreaming, psychosis, over active imagination, .... the mind works in amazing ways...it stores memories / feelings/emotions/ input from our senses/...and then based on those thoughts/ memories / events/...fashions dreams/nightmares based on our own thinking process, experiences and emotions... example a person who is thinking about an apple a lot and is has an emotional feeling towards an apple will most likely dream about an apple or an apple may appear in the dream in some form. The other night my wife and I went to dinner. they had the most fabulous dutch apple pie there. it made such an impression on me that in my dreams I was picking apples, I was eating apples, I was baking apples, I was smelling apples, buying dutch apple pies... my dreams were filled with apples the likes of what I had never encountered before...does that mean I met a new type of apple in my dreams no. it just means my brain was doing a lot of thinking about apples.. not too long ago I had a dream about one of my alters..I dreamed I was in my childhood home going room to room, in one of the rooms was my alter Sunny. in the dream we spent some time talking and then left the house hand in hand. Does this dream mean I met my alter...no. it just means my therapist and I had focused on that alter during therapy so my mind/emotions converted what we talked about into a dream.. dont get me wrong Im not saying you didnt "meet" your alter in your dreams. only you and your treatment providers can say whether you know enough about that alter for your mind to create this dream, whether you have been thinking about how to meet your alters and other variables that come with how the mind creates dreams. what I do know is that with... me... the more my thoughts and emotions were on my alters the more I would dream about them, and each time it usually meant something different then "meeting my alters" dreams /dreaming is very subjective most dreams are not literal. they are a combination of our emotions/fears/excitements/happiness/thoughts/ plans/ past memories/...and many other things...which is why only our own treatment providers and ourselves can say whether they have met their alters through dreaming... |

I dont know if this exactly what youre looking for, but we each have our own dreams and sometimes see each other in them. But we already all know each other. But, for instance, the other night the ten year old had a dream about school, and she saw the two year old. The dream went on a short time, and they switched- same dream, but from the others perspective

Could it be a repressed memory that blended into a dream?

That is more like what I experience. I have had dreams that are very real with me when I was little or in my preteens. I do have alters of the same ages but I don't perceive them as being my alters. I understand them as being a part of my dream. Some of the dreams are about me being abused. Most times when I wake up I remember the dream and consider it as my mind trying to let me know what happened to me, Only doing it in small intervals. I also have lucide dreams where I know I am dreaming while I am dreaming. I have always had them.
