This has happened once before. After a session with my T, I lost my voice. I could not speak. I had another session with my T monday just gone, now days later my voice is still gone. I had to write to communicate with my P'doc today, I have to write at the chemist. Grrrr.
I want to feel feelings. I want to be able feel sad. I want to release my emotions. I want to be able to cry and I don't mean just two tears. I want to be able to grieve. Instead I get another physical response. |

A few years back I was loosing my voice completely. Couldn't talk, had to write stuff down that kind of thing. I went to my doctor who referred me to a Pulmonologist. He was concerned that my breathing obstructed. When I went to the Pulmonologist she made me blow into a machine to measure my exhale output. I immediately lost my voice. She told me my vocal cords had spammed and that is why I couldn't talk. She called it a spastic esophagus. She told me to pant lightly and that would release the spasm and I would be able to talk. She was right. Ask you Dr about this. They can check for it and give you the right course of action. Take care.

does any sound come out when you try to speak? Raspy or squeeky? If so, Clarity's suggestion sounds really helpful (i will have to try that for when that happens to me in that way - like now).
Or is it like you've gone mute? I have a selectively mute alter. It happens in therapy or in public - the words are there, but the throat won't work, the mouth won't speak. But I've not had it continue longer than the trigger. sending hugs!
