Wondering if folks have experience with the following. Sometimes when we do "conference room" work in therapy, it feels like the T is very prescriptive in leading parts to engage. Sometimes I, the one who goes to therapy, remember what we did and sometimes I do not. In any case, Parts do just show up, but not always who T asks to talk to. Does this happen to others? Is this how it works? My instinct is to trust the wisdom of the system as knowing what it needs. Like if some one shows up to talk in the conference room, they probably need to do that. But I also know there may be shy and withdrawn parts who need to talk and are afraid.

we don't chose who goes to session. we may start session with the one who drove than someone else talks. it's who ever wants to be in the room

To be clear, there's a lot of fluidity in who shows up to any given appointment. But in the conference room process proper, there seems to be an effort at guiding the process on the part of the T.

T may have parts he or she wishes to speak to, but it's ultimately the choice of the parts and you who actually does come forward. I don't think that's an unusual way for things to go. It happens to me too.
