i am used to nightmares or weird dreams, but the ones i had this morning (seems to be a theme the last few i've had where they happen around the same time) were just very odd.
i woke myself up saying 'no' over and over again. i have an idea of what part of the dream was about but woke up really fast and felt really young and sad and scared. i have never woken myself up talking ever, just crying sometimes. the second dream i had was where a poster board was being held in front of me that had all these words/sentences on them. someone was tapping the board, and i couldn't read what it said because they were holding it at an angle i couldn't read it. i then woke up to apparently tapping myself on the face and then heard all these voices saying things that i couldn't make out...and then the voices stopped, but it took a while to go back to sleep. it was so strange. i think some of those types of dreams are definitely related to dissociative stuff and are just so....bizarre.....i never know what are 'normal' dreams or not.. |

Omg my dreams are so effing weird. It's like whose dreaming this crap? It cant be me??? Am I tuned in to another's mentalness...because I get like no way no way am I going there!
I just don't do them things (XXXX rated). And I violently wake up. Of course, Bobbie does, but not me! And then someone wants to play a sound track to dance to, and then here comes the others TALKING about how to do something later at work...in 10 effing hours, it's 3 a.m., then another wants to party...I'm so tired in the morning. Usually a good drunk would knock us out all nite, but not lately. I might start taking the AP, but I sleep late. ![]() |

((((FMW))))
My dreams have been off the chart bizarre too recently. Ive often had really horrendous nightmares, but over the last couple of weeks its got crazy. Im now really struggling to remember the dreams, I just know Ive had them. I wake up drenched and I can remember bits of dreams, but I couldn't tell you when Ive had them. I won't know if I had the dream last night, or last week, and the jigsaw pieces of dreams are all out of place - I can't tell if it was one dream, or 8 dreams, or what order any of it happened in. I feel like something significant, some huge has happened but I don't know what. |

Thank you for this thread FMW. We struggle to get proper sleep most nights because of strange, disturbing dreams. They have us waking up scareed, with a pounding heart, and soaked in sweat. Come morning, and we barely remember what the dream was about. We're really, really glad to know that we are not alone in this. Thank you for sharing.

I'll take strange dreams over no dreams. Last round of insomnia took all dreams away, exhausting. But strange dreams also take energy.

i would personally rather have no dreams sometimes.
the bad/sad ones also take a huge emotional toll on me, and the effects can last for a day or longer. then come night, i get anxious and afraid i'll have another bad dream. i can go weeks without having a bad dream, but even just one can be enough to stir things up a lot and leave me in a state of uneasiness, panic, etc. |

finding_my_way, that sounds hard. I understand how that can be, intense dreams sticking around during the day.

i had another strange thing happen a few times this morning. i can wake up then have a hard time falling back asleep. this morning, i woke up quite a few times, and it was like an in between sleep state but similar feeling to dissociation a bit too. when i woke up like i did, i was hearing a whole bunch of voices each time. i don't generally wake up and still have a dream 'going' when i'm awake, so i'm not sure if these times were dream states and i was just really tired or what..but it was really different than things i have experienced. it's interesting to me to keep track of things, not just dreams, because i have had a pattern for years of not being able to stay asleep after i wake up but no odd things taking place when i do wake up except if it's a nightmare or something.
anyone else have anything similar? i always thought if you have REM sleep, that is the state of sleep you dream in, and it also is where your body is supposed to basically be paralyzed. i am not sure if that is correct or not. |

There was a time when it seemed that I didn't dream at all, absolutely no recall, not even a glint. That lasted years, but lately it's like I'm totally emersed..
I have those lucid dreams where you can have some control of your dreams by directing action. I'm lowering my AD dose because I think it's affecting my sleeping patterns, a little on the hypo side. I'm like in an energized awake even so very tired hearing party music and everyone working on their problems, like the workers are trying to figure out problems, someone else is talking at me, mumblings, ugh, all I want to do is sleep. I end up tossing and turning in and out of slumber, consciencely active. I think I wrote this before it seems. |
