so i am going back to school and learning that i am definately an introvert.
which i always thought was just shyness but its different. so wondering if anyone out there is introvert? do you feel that knowing this and having DID complicates things more or not? Since my awareness of this, I feel it has complicated things for me. Its more like what comes first the chicken or the egg. Would i have felt different as a child due to introvertedness or the fact that I had DID? Sometimes I wish I could put DID on hold to get my homework done. I have a paper due on tuesday on introvertedness ...i am greatly hating this...maybe a break |

You sound like myself, my host was really shy....Now, not much of it at all! Although, I like to remain shy because that feels safest and more like my whole life previous to dx. I have great balance now on when I can be the shy host , but there are situations that dictate when I need to give my others time out to be themselves also. That is the best way to have the best prognosis give your alters time, staying in therapy, balance, and boundaries. This is going to sound clichéd, but you need to experience life for a while to learn your system if you don't remember what happened in your life previous to therapy. It is not fair, but I guarantee you it is different after dx over the course of therapy. Now matter, what your treatment was like it doesn't really matter people will have something to say in every situation. If you are introvert or extrovert, you can have the same time to experience things home or out....No one is 100% homebound I'm talking about most normal people.

I think we were both shy and an introvert, but have blossomed through others.
We were an introvert through high school, but that's because we were bashed. Since then though, we had others emerge made to deal with public life. The quiet ones are still here, but they don't present much anymore. Some of us others finally grew up, too. We are private and don't let anyone into our thinking. But if we do, it's only those things that are approved for public viewing- drinking tends to cloud this judgement. :P Maybe writing that paper from your unique perspective can earn you bonus! Instead of the droll of normal people thinking which is something that you sound like you are having a problem with...singular thinking. Just a thought! ![]() |

Another thought.... I remember back when I used to write papers in school (30 years ago), it was more of a collaboration of minds. Every half a page or so, you can tell a different other wrote just by the switch in handwriting. This was just the rough draft, so we had to go back to edit and rewrite some of it to make it fluid and make it in the "official" body handwriting known in school, lol.
But of course today, it's all printed text. Someone having a word processor then was rare and we were lucky to find a typewriter! |

I want to go back to school! I loved school, I miss it so much. Even college was fun....the flavor, atmosphere, the feeling of future potential and aspirations and hope... so much vibrant energy!
