yes. quite a bit at times, especially if she's been gone a long time

if a little insider needs to be comforted, how do you comfort them?

I went to a trauma unit at a psych hospital for 2 weeks. While I was there I had a chance to speak to other systems. I was just getting diagnosed, though, and pretty switchy so don't really remember. They told us to not stay in touch with each other and I obeyed. I don't know that I would obey them now if I had a chance. It was very helpful to have things that are very different from most people identified with. Like panic attacks. I thought that I didn't have them because when I thought I was going to die, I thought that seemed like a good idea. I thought that with panic attacks you were supposed to be afraid you were dying.

Do you have depression in addition to DID? T3 told me that all of her clients with DID take antidepressants. Because people w DID usually have at least one alter who is really depressed.

yes.. and it is really noticeable

we get really bad suicidal urges- and that's just it. if we do we cant't control it and feel stuck
sticking to this subject

when you or your alters start feeling suicidal, how do you talk yourself, or them down?

it's easy to talk the littles down, just put them on the kangaroo (it really comforts them!)

not as easy for the bigger ones and the hosty

we admit we usually act on them and do something harmful

how many in your system are littles?

Sometimes it is very difficult to choose what to have for dinner. I usually make the decision earlier in the day when I am feeling pretty solid. If dinner time comes and I haven't decided, I look for something that everyone likes. Spaghetti, burgers cooked on the grill are both good options.

How long ago were you diagnosed with a dissociative disorder?

Two and a half months ago. However, we've known for twenty-four years.

What was the last thing you bought for a little?

i don't really think that any of us are truly " motivated"

if something has to be done, it usually is left to the person fronting (so that could mean it's done really well, or it's done quite poorly)

we all have our strengths and weaknesses, but we also don't work on the bases of 1 person is more motivated than another- who ever is fronting, that's who does it

have you seen the united states of tara?. did you like it

I only watched a couple episodes. no I did not like it. i found out that the show was wrote and acted as comedy \ mockery\, making fun of DID not meant to be taken seriously or as an accurate depiction of the disorder. therefore I stopped watching it.

since I havent read this whole thread and dont want to risk asking a question that has already been asked will pass the same question to the next person.

Do you think there are any benefits to have D.I.D?

we keep meaning to watch the united states of tara (we know it's on netflix, and we have a subscription to that), we've just not watched it yet.

Scotch, your question is hard.

an advantage to having DID?

i guess we do have each other- even if having each other means having the angry and un predictable natalie, the disney loving alicia, and the frajile- sometimes difficult to work with octavia (and others), we do have each other- and i think to someone who's lost her family support, it's progress

i honestly can't think of anything else... perhaps an advantage is if 1 of us is tired or unable to work out what she is doing, someone else who does know and does not mind doing the job can take over

how many are in your ssystem in total
Thanks for this!

Oh. Evertime we thinnk we know how many there are we find out we was wrong. Lulz. I know about 14 now? I hope im not forgeting nobody. Then we still got some fragments. I dont count them cuz they dont act like other ones plus the hard for me to spot and count. We usta have lots more frags but not anymore now theres less.

Do you have a original person or know who it is? The one who was first born into the body?

i suppose their's 2 answers to that question

the first person ) so the host's body), that's emily.

the first person after that we think was natalie

does someone else (who is not the host) take over more frequently than the host does?, (like is the host barely their most of the time)

B4 dx? Or B4 radical acceptance/ realization?
..cuz I was apparently dxd for a while, but T, who apparently is the one who put the DID dx in the system...kept saying she didn't think that I actually had DID...n I kept telling her i didn't give a rats *****! I don't care bout sum codes n words on paper or what ne one thinks..I know who I am. I'm not the one who was ever confused to begin with. I just do my job...n I am damned good at it too

find out the dx had been there for over a year B4 she left the practice. Found out from next T when asked for help filling out DMH paperwork...so, B4 dx..was the same as after, but that's just how I think.
Now realization...I knew as afar as I can remember that there were others...thought they all knew too..guess I was wrong?? Cuz, but a yr ago ***** got all wonky n crap. Guess it was shocking 4 sum...I don't even know why I am here writin this now..cuz I didn't start writin this..got tagged I'm for sum reason...hmmm??!! ~♦

OH just saw this is Q&A thread! Oops!
Here's sumthin that's been buggin me lately... DP/DR and lucid dreamin...been gettin mixed up lately... Does neone else sumtime have trouble figurin if awake or,asleep? Like a foggy memory?? Was I just in foggy state..or did I dream that??

Yesterday! /NOW!! I'm so so sorry Shattered!!
She has been really pissy lately, from what I've seen (mostly txts). I don't know why she is taking it out on you or here. That post was rude. I'm sure when she gets over whatever is bugging her she will apologize as well..She is generally one if the few I trust to be appropriate
It does look like she tried to add a question on the end...it's muddled. I think I understand tho so I will rephrase.

In periods of great stress, when dissociation gets bad... Does your memory ever get confused between DP/DR episodes and vivid dreams?

reception area with a computer

a big long corridor with lots of rooms for the diffrent insiders

Out back the kangaroo for the littles

on the floor below a dungeon

do all your insiders have their own stuff?. (clothes, stuffies, etc), or do you tend to share
