I have alters that are depersonalised and derealised. It has been for many years and I have experienced time-lost because of this. This experience has been pretty chronic and I have created this my second home, where I feel belonged to most of the time.

Depersonalisation mode:
I would see things that are not there in the third person perspective. I would see myself far away walking all alone, like an out-of-body experience. I would walk into many different places overtime. I would observe myself on the outside.

Derealisation mode:
I would see things that are not there in the first person perspective. I would merge the physical realm and the self-imagined realm together at once to dissociate from reality. I would be in a room where it is not a room to me, but I would be in another place instead.

with me depersonalization and derealization wasnt things like seeing things that were not real. in me that was called psychosis, hallucinations and delusions

in me depersonalization/ derealization was having a feeling of numbness, feeling spaced out, feeling like I was watching not participating in conversations with my family and friends, feeling like my computer wasnt real but yet knowing it was real, feeling like I wasnt real but knowing I was real, kind of likehow a person feels when they are in that half awake half asleep mode of thinking, feelings vs reality remains intact kind of thing with me.

my suggestion is talk with your doctors they may be able to help with yours and your alters seeing things that are not real problems. what helps me when I get this way is my doctors fix my meds.
Thanks for this!

Thank you AL for clearing this up. You make sense.

I think I have both psychosis and depersonalisation/ derealisation, but I think psychotic depression describes better, because it is attached with major depressive episode, which I am experiencing right now. After I read your post today, I have asked my psychiatrist about it. He is still working out whether I have it or not, but hopefully I will be able to get a diagnosis of psychotic depression if possible, because I have been seeing things that are not there and hearing things that are delusional. I need his diagnosis for my disability support pension. I have asked him to write a report by next week as medical evidence, but this diagnosis haven't been made. I am worried. And, especially he will take his weeks off after next week of seeing him. He said he needed a two weeks break. He has been yawning a lot. Maybe he is tired.
