A more recent thing I have noticed, I've been starting to feel a great deal of depression. Nothing seems to make me smile, my chest is being crushed by some unknown weight, and I'm very uninspired to get up and even walk around. I'm not sure what's sparked this... but I believe it may have something to do with my dissociative disorder.
Not being able to remember certain things has really bummed me out. It makes me feel useless and worth nothing more than a pile of trash. I keep forgetting birthdays and names, and important meetings and events, even though I keep a calendar AND a journal to remember such things. I've been uninspired to write in it... and it hasn't made me feel the absolute best. It's as if I've let down myself... Moreso, it's exactly what I'm doing. Letting myself down, as I've done to everyone around me. I'm not exactly sure why I'm writing this... maybe to answer the question in the title? Or maybe because it makes me feel a little better writing this out... Thank you for all of you who are on here. You're all very important people to me. ![]()

Quote:
here in the USA depression and DID are not "related" here they each are two different disorders in their own categories and with their own diagnostic criteria that will get one diagnosed with them....one of those rules is that one mental disorder can not be because of another mental disorder. not saying a person cant have depression and DID, just that here where I am there is that fine line that doesnt get crossed with our listing of mental disorders and what causes them. here a person can have both disorders (DID and Depression) just that here they cant be because of each other. weird rule I know but thats how america does it. my suggestion is contact yours or a mental health treatment provider where you are and they will be able to tell you what the rules are for mental disorders where you are and whether depression is related to DID where you are. |

I took AD which then triggered my bipolar condition to mania- discovered the bd.
When depression hits, the entire system is affected. Talk about a group of moody personalities that feed on each other making it more depressing. Anyways, can you see a doctor? Hopes you get feeling better soon. |

Thank you all, I'll be talking to both my doctor and my psychotherapist as soon as I can.
