So lately one of my parts, Jim and I have been arguing about religion. I won't get into detail because I dont want to offend anyone. Lets just say we have almost completely opposite views

How do you deal with having differences in opionon between alters?

If you do not have any control over Jim, I suggest you to either stop talking to him about it or change the views yourself.

I think each of our parts has a right to their own opinion. I guess I would deal with it like you would with someone outside yourself: Listen, ask questions, and respect the differences!

Well, my T would say there would be a reason for them to hold different views. At some point in time that would have been needed. She would ask
"What is the purpose of x view? What function does that serve for the whole?"
"What is the purpose of y view? What function does that serve for the whole?"

Underneath the differences there will likely be a very important reason for each differently held belief and why it needed to be held separately to its opposite. My T would say that arguing with each other back and forth won't help because there will likely be a very important thing that hasn't been uncovered yet that makes (made) the divide necessary.

We feel like a walking contradiction....if we were all integrated....we would be like when anti-matter meets matter...ka-bloowy. Lol

To each their own I say. You aren’t going to change their mind unless they are willing to like any other person on this planet would.

Who likes arguing...in or out? It takes a moderator (T) to work out the differences.
Thanks for this!

We have alters of different religions. Each is given respect in terms that each is free to practice their religion whenever & however they want. We never debate the tenets of argue philosophy. Treat it like a good friend who is of another faith. Respect also means not wearing a Christian symbol to a nonChristian
ceremony or event.... at least not visibly. Thank the powers that be for mirrors!!! As we became co- conscious, questions were allowed but debating no. yea-buts strictly prohibited. Ask question, get answer.. No discussion. Going to watch a ceremony welcomed but just watching. Always free to leave. Same for political issues.
