Chez has been letting me out more often recently.

He's been letting me out almost every night now, which is exciting. He doesn't let me come out during the day which is understandable. I'd be embarrassed of me to if I were in his situation. This isn't the only thing though. He's also trying to get along better with Zekk, one of the other alters. I'm excited that he's making progress with us! I hope that we can all be stable sometime in the future. That would be cool.

what do you like to do when you are out

It's kind of silly, but I like to dress up and just appreciate being out. Life is so much better when you experience it. I have figured out something new to do though. Now, I'm trying to figure out the things that we've forgot. We don't remember practically anything from elementary school or before, and I thing that the root of our problems lie there.

Also, I'm out for longer periods of time. Before, I had to be pretty much tied to my trigger for me to stay stable and in control, but now, I pretty much have free reign until I feel like relinquishing control. IT'S SO GREAT!

I think that is so cool that you have the kind of system where Chez can choose to let you all out or not. mine was not that way. mine was what my treatment providers called dissociative, meaning in order for my alters to take control I had to be triggered by something, then have my dissociation problems, then which ever alter took care of that problem that was causing me to dissociate, they were the ones that took control and handled that.

Amanda (thats me) was afraid of thunder storm. The thunder storms would cause me to have my dissociation problems (feel numb, spaced out, disconnected and other dissociation symptoms too)

because the trigger for my dissociating was thunder storms the alter who handled thunder storm problems would take control, then get out of the storm, get home, change into dry clothes, get something warm to eat and drink.

Then Amanda (thats me) would be back in control because I was no longer triggered and no longer having my dissociation problems because I was safe and warm again at home.

Another example.... intimacy when ever I was in an intimate moment I would have my dissociation problems of feeling numb spaced out and disconnected. the alter that took care of the intimacy was Thelma. She would take control, do whats needed in the intimate moment then when things were calmed back down and no longer intimate I would be back in control because I was safe and no longer afraid and triggered into my dissociation problems because of the intimate moment.

thats how my alters took control. I didnt have a choice on who and when the others were out. it all depended upon my being triggered into having my dissociation symptoms. then which ever alter handled that kind of situation that was triggering me , was the one that was in control doing what their sense of agency was.
