Day to day functioning is becoming really difficult. I'm not around a lot of the time, anymore. When I am around, I'm confused and dealing with flashbacks. I feel as though I'm losing my grip on reality.

What do I do?

maybe you can ask inside for someone who has handled this kind of situation in the past can help you now...

one good thing about DID is that a persons system is automatically how ever they needed it to handle the hard triggering times. so when triggered theres usually someone right there ready and able to handle what ever is going on, so maybe you can ask inside to find out who since before you were 5 yrs old is the one that has the sense of agency to handle being confused and flashbacks.

another suggestion... with DID reality remains intact (one of the diagnostics since 2013) maybe when you feel like you are losing grip on your reality you can ask your self to do some reality testing to prove to your self that you are not losing touch with your reality.
Thanks for this!

I didn't see your reply until now. Those are good suggestions. My system is kind of having a meltdown right now, it seems. Only one alter has really been able to step up and ignore what Star has been saying. She keeps describing traumatizing events and acting like they're good things. It's making all of us have flashbacks and intrusive memories. Only Trevor is really handling it alright (as far as I know). Not even James is doing okay and that scares the hell out of me. James is always okay.

Something new we've tried is going out in nature. We live close to an open space. Something about getting away from civilization & all it's noise & chaos but still around living things. Animals, trees etc. Not really sure what happens. Was surprised when after a snow, younger ones wanted to get food for the animals. Older ones bought apples, carrots & we went for a walk & left them near the river. Took crackers to throw in the river where one of the younger ones is convinced dolphins live!! Everyone just seem to calm down, feel unthreatened.Just thought I 'd mention it. Take care of yourself.
