I have an alter named Mary. She is 8 and has never spoken a word. She stays in the room, lays on the bed with her hand under her chin and reads. She just reads. I don't know what she reads and I don't even know how I learned her name.
I can't seem to reach her. NOTHING effects her. People yelling don't effect her, banging doesn't effect her....nothing. It is a given rule that no one is allowed in the room and Beau is there to guard the door. The door is open at times so you can look in, but if anyone tries to go in Beau is there to stop them. I just don't know how to get her to talk. At the same time I am TERRIFIED of what she may be holding onto in her mind. Any ideas? Anyone have a silent Alter?? Thanks, BJ

It sounds to me like Beau is the key to Mary...or the protector and go-between I should say.
I would attempt to communicate with her through Beau...gaining both their trust at the same time. Good luck, hon. KD

That is a good idea... yes I have a mute alter... and one of the protectors.. was told.. "it is safe now"... over and over again... and eventually... the mute alter spoke..

WOW! Really? Well, I don't *think* Mary is mute because I found out last night that she talks with Beau....he protects her. She told him her name and he told me.
I am really hoping that in time she will be more open, but at the same time it scares me. BJ

when she's ready she'll speak - or write or draw. i also had a silent one - samantha - and she talks now a little. like mary, all she did was read. one really bad summer for us, she developed. she read 42 books that summer.

That sounds promising. I know that there is going to be tons of work to do with her, but I have to be patient and patience is not my strength!
 I was able to find out from Beau that she likes to read the "Nancy Drew"(?) books. I looked them up today and it is some mystery series or something. Anyways, I am feeling like Beau is becoming a bit more trusting of me and I am trying very hard not to ruin that. So, slowly we will go! Thanks! BJ

Maybe you can get some Nancy Drew books for her? There are some here and I find them out and upside down opened often (as well as some others).
It's kind of like being a detective sometimes, isn't it.  Good luck finding out more.

LOL, yeah it really is like being a detective!
