For the last few years, it's been kinda like I'm not one person anymore. Like there's 3 of me.

Each part has a diferent name, and we all trade up control.

BUT....no one loses time. We all know what going on. We all watch our actions when we're not in control, but we can't really interfere.

And, really, "trade up control" isn't the phrase I'm after. It's more like a hostile take over.

Does this make any sense? Could this be a form of DID?

I kidda new to this but that has been what my experience has been. I went through a divorce and am dealing with my own as well as my childrens abuse issues and that is when I was thrown back into this again. Mine switch back and forth but lately they switch a lot. I also know what you mean by a take over. It is my opinion that yes this is a form of DID. T helps and this chat room has helped a lot.

Can you tell more about this? Were you kind of one person for a while then figured out you had alters? You don't have to answer but...

It kinda reminds of the way I found out I had alters. Suddenly after something somewhat traumatic the alters "activated". I'm not sure if I have DID but it sounds so much like it.

I've always just been me, Tara. But I started hearing voices in my head, they could hear my thoughts, comment on my actions, etc.

Well, one day this guy decides that he wants to fight with me. One of the voices says "I'll take this one", then BAM! I wasn't me anymore. I was just watching, like a movie. When it was over, and I was me again, I asked what happened, who had taken over. She answered, and then 3 more introduced themselves. They all took over at some point, usually triggered by some phrase or action.

I had 5 once, but am down to 3: Me and 2 others, Gabi and Ashley.

Helping any?

Yeah, that sounds pretty much like some form of DID. From what I've gathered, DID is different for everyone like bipolar disorder etc.

It makes very much sense.

It sounds like you're able to communicate with the others? Maybe if you could work on better communication then it would help the "hostile" nature of take overs. Just an idea, I suck at advice in this area. :-)

Hey, no worries. At least you're trying in the advice area, right?

About the hostile thing, Gabi just is. She's never happy, and if I'm ever arrested for some horrible crime, chances are, she did it. She has no patience, and if things aren't going her way, she takes over. She also comes out if I'm angry or in pain. I think she's dangerous.

Hi Normalplease, welcome to PC. No time loss....? I was wondering as well if you have a therapist? If things are interfering with your every day functioning, a T can help you figure things out. Keep posting. We're here. No time loss....?
