Has anyone ever done that before?
How long did it take?
Was it like a collage, a map, or just a drawing?
Did you ever have people who didn't seem to fit anywhere?

I started that this week with my T so I wanted to see what everyone else has done before?

Hi blackbelt. System Mapping I've not tried to do that yet. I have thought about it, but it kind of makes me fly to the back somewhere so I don't think I've talked to T about it or her to me (course who knows when you can't remember the session half the time lol). T and I have to go rather at a snail's pace because I still get so triggered so easily. But we're making progress, bit by bit and I'm getting stronger. System Mapping

Good luck with figuring it all out. System Mapping

I've seen systems that are rooms off long hallways, or vertical, in the out doors such as in trees or caves, etc.

Each person's system is a personal design, and there is no wrong way to have organized, imo. I don't think anyone can just sit down and map their system completely... as there always seems to be at least one that holds out until all the rest are recovered or integrated etc.

If you have someone who doesn't seem to fit in, then maybe you have to tweak the way you are seeing them? Not necessarily the one but the whole system... maybe like a hotel with an elevator and someone who moves throughout? System Mapping

It's good to begin... but don't feel stress that you have to figure your system out all at once. (((safe hug)))

agreed.

i have mapped twice i think. and things change you know- so it is always gonna be a work in progress.
I gave the pen over to the "other hand" (non-dominant) and let the alters place themselves. I know three tend to hang out so i had put myself and let them group themselves where they are in relation to me. around all of us is the censoring system, so that enclosed us all.
best =)

I am making a collage and my T was very helpful as she already kind of had a map. I have three people who don't have like a group and several I didn't even know I had. So my T has halped a lot with that. Now we are putting them together in a big book with a collage because I like doing those.

I like seeing what other people do sometimes because they might have a really good idea that might work for me.

oh yeah totally. i love collages =) one thing you can do also, is to have you and the alters go through magazines and collage what you want - without censoring or thinking. then go back and see if you can find patterns. =)
