I struggle with binging a lot lately, and with purging occasionally. So ar it dieson't seem serious enough to count as an eating disorder, but I don't want to get it that far either. My T pretty ignores me when I say I've had a binge/purge episode. It may be because it's really an alter who does it, so giving me alternatives may not work when the alter is in control and cannot access these tools. But I don't really know what to do, how to prvent this from getting worse.

Sorry that you're going through this but maybe you can switch to a different T or tell her that this is really a problem for you.

Thanks fo rhte comment Broken Wings. I cannot switch to a different T, but I did tell her it is a problem when I last saw her yesterday. She seems to be getting a clue now.

Astridetal, I've never considered how one would treat an alter with an ED...that must add to the complexity, but I would imagine that all of you would benefit from the basics of treatment - learning to feel, trust and talk, focusing on what's eating you instead of what you're eating and all of that...

Sorry you're struggling. Glad T is going to help with your food issues sooner rather than later. It's a long journey back from an ED, so you're super extra wise for trying to nip it in the bud.

Thank you for your support. I'm struggling badly today, and not sure it's my alter who is just having the ED issues anymore. I purged twice today and binged a lot, and while I felt/feel out of control, I don't know whehter it's my alter or it's just me beign uncontrollable with food. I talk to my therapist last Friday, who said it may go away on its own but who asked stuff about it too. I got lots of black liquorice (candy) fo rmy wedding on Monday, and really feel out of control with eating it and then purging. My nust just says wel this is one time don't buy more candy soon, but I'm really concerned.
