Hello, everyone! First of all,I want to congratulate the people behind Psyche Central.Your website really helps a lot of people to cope with their problems.
I have a question, though.I want to know if anyone could help me find an anorexia treatment center in the Philippines.I've tried to search this on my own but I really could not find an anorexia treatment center in the Philippines. Also,I want to know if I could still get treatment for anorexia even if I don't leave the Philippines.
Thank you everyone for reading my post.May God bless you all.

Much thanks,
Ogie

Yeah, calling the local clinic or hospital is probably the way to go.

Thanks for responding Patricia and JustBen.I'll check with the local health unit if they have a physician who is experienced in treating anorexia.

Thanks for helping,
Ogie

Welcome Ogie,

Treatment for anorexia can be either inpatient or outpatient. If the weight is dangerously low, then inpatient is really what is necessary because they can take care of you medically for anemia & malnutrition while providing psychological therapy. If the weight isn't dangerous, then outpatient treatment or a psychologist or pdoc that knows about anorexia can also help. Here in the US, there are also local support groups made up of people with the same problem, led by someone that knows how to help also.

I have used all of the options above, hope you can find something that works for you,
Debbie

I was not hospitalized when I had anorexia. All throughout my ordeal,I wasn't hospitalized.I didn't tell anyone what I was going through although anyone could tell that I was definitely sick just by looking at me.1990-1992-these are the years that I was anorexic. Now my weight is back to normal although my bones were damaged.(I have osteopenia and osteoporosis today.I started feeling something was wrong with my bones in1993 but I was diagnosed only in year 2000.)
