I just wana desperately know if anyone has any advice on how to stop bulimia. Has anyone had any success stories of overcoming it. I'm just wondering because i'm feeling pretty down about it now! Anything at all would be great!

I haven't mastered it either. I'd probably encourage you to get in therapy though.

I"m in therapy, but therapy is a wee bit of a joke really!
It just seems to me to be like a group for people who ain't doin much with their life and seem to lose the plot all the time! I'm just bein a judgemental cow though! I'm real scared about not getting better and how long it may take and relapsing etc. I'm wondering if i'll ever have a life where i'm fully productive

i dont know how to overcome it but i am fighting it.

when i get the urge i have to try and distract myself sometimes just taking off in the car and driving helps.
sometimes i knock on my neightbours door and say hello she talks for ages and its hard to get away so that distracts me.
i have 1 person i trust who knows and if things are bad i can call her and shes just there to help me talk things through.

im much better than i was years ago with me i get bad when i have too much time on my hands so keeping busy helps

i have in no way gotten past my ED, but nibbling on low-cal foods sometimes works for me. it doesn't make me feel bloated, and because they are low in calories, i don't feel as guilty for actually keeping it down.

have you read any of the self help books or been to a treatment facility? i am unable to stop the addicting cycle of bulimia also so i cant say what works but in my opinion going away to an inpatient treatment seems like it would help the most b/c your constantly working on changing the b/p behavior. i also believe you have to seriously WANT to change the behavior. i know for me my b/p is like a comfort and security that is really scary to give up.

Hi peeps
Yeah, I did stop the b/p-ing for a bit and have now just returned to yee old habits. Stink one. I want to change the behaviour but don't think i can sustain it for long enough. I feel stink about all this dumb stuff that I do that keeps me in therapy. I don't feel like I'm getting better.

Sezzie,
In response to your question, I have overcome bulimia and would be more than happy to talk to you about it. I don't want to really write anything here, because it's a long story and a long process, but if you want to pm me, I'll talk to you. My thoughts are with you.

Hi peeps
I've had the craziest week ever. Crazy, crazy, crazy. No I haven't stopped vomiting. I just met this dude who is totally like me. Finally I found someone who is my own age, instead of twice my age! I won a research grant at uni- even though I totally ditched out on uni the last semester! Things is totally looking up for me- but I'm still feeling down. I'm becoming very forgetful and slow. I want to get out of the rut that I'm in, in my mind. I hope I don't have to be like this for ages!

Love Sezzie
