I saw this commercial today for a weight loss supplement and now I plan on getting it. I've had problems with food since I was twelve but, I always worried that I would be "too tiny" if I took those diet supplements, although I took the supplements anyways. The problem is, I used to starve myself but, I am going through so much emotional stuff that I NEED food for comfort...starving myself isn't an option nor does it work much anymore. It used too.. so idk, that commercial really got to me and I am going to lose sooo much weight because I hate my body and I hate the memories I have connected to it..and I feel like a worthless, terrible person who was used and mistreated...btw, I'm 24 now.

Please safeguard your health regarding diet supplements. Ensure that any of the ingredients of the products do not contain any stimulants that may affect your heart rate. A friend tried a dietary weight loss supplement and damaged her heart.

My advice, honestly; Don't buy them.

These diet supplements are not regulated by the FDA. Meaning they can put what ever they damn well please into these "pills", and leave you ill and with no one to hold accountable. These supplements are known to shut down kidneys, cause respatory issues/failure, scarring of the heart, heart damage, heart disease, kidney disease, gallstones, kidney stones, and even seizures.

As someone with gallbladder disease, you do NOT want gallstones. I am in so much pain from them daily just by dropping so much weight so fast. It may seem like a minimal side effect, trust me, it's not.

It's not worth it.

I second everyone else's suggestions, I would stay away. Just an FYI, but most of these ads/infomercials are really bad to even listen too. I think they can make you feel bad about your body and self worth. I noticed a while back I was cleaning and unknowingly listening to one on weight loss. I started feeling bad about my body the rest if the day and I was like "why am I feeling this way, there's no reason to". I connected it back to the ad. I didn't know it, but just listening to it in the background affected me and how I perceived myself.
Thanks for this!

You're perfectly right, Sunny! That is what these commercials are meant to do! They are meant to shame people into hating their bodies so that they take drastic measures (taking harmful supplements, spending ridiculous amounts of money, getting dangerous surgeries). Some people who have gotten into advertising had to leave because this is called a "strategy".

In my expereince, people who were used and mistreated usually hate themselves and feel worthless. They do think of themselves as terrible people. But trust me when I say that you are none of the above. I do understand though believing the lies. I understand that first hand.

Here is what I hope you do instead of taking diet pills. I hope you can get the help that you deserve to learn that nothing was your fault. And that you are not how anyone who hurt you defined you. You are a good person who was hurt. And I am so sorry that happened to you. People can heal the wounds of being "used and mistreated" It takes work of course. But the pain can get less. Much less. And you can take back your power. Finding the right person to work with is such a blessing. I wish this for you. I wish this for all people who have been hurt. Including myself. May those who have been so hurt that they use food as a substute for power or control or medication, find the help to heal those wounds.

Please don't take any diet pills hun. Not only are they very dangerous for your organs, namely your heart, once you stop taking them, you will more than likely gain all of the weight back. As difficult as it is, I would consult your doctor with the proper daily caloric intake and what exercises would best suit your body, age, and overall lifestyle. Those pill manufacturers do not care one iota about their consumers and only want your money. There's a good reason why diet pills are a multi billion dollar industry.. they prey on the vulnerable and desperate ones. You don't need that garbage and you are stronger than that!

I wouldn't take dietary supplements but I take green tea and raspberry keystones. There's nothing wrong with helping your body especially if you have a slow metabolism like me (why I started taking them) try foods that focus on your metabolism rising like one a days for active metabolism. I do not want you to think that I'm telling you to do this or that I'm supporting your ed. It's just a healthier option to choose from and one that allows you to feel reassured that your body is doing everything it can so you don't have to do things such as restrict or use unhealthy diet pills.

Don't let the past damage that others destructively did to you ruin the good future that you deserve to have.

It's not fair that we end up living through things that harm us so badly...but we have to make wise choices so that we don't end up damaging ourselves in reacting in a bad way because of what those in your past did to you.

Know it's not easy but hopefully you are in T or will get into T & get the help that will really MAKE a difference in your life....then the other things will fall into place
