I'm cranky- I'm going through withdrawal- so frustrating not to be able to eat certain foods because of allergies- I've basically had to cut out my favorite foods . . . this must be a mean karmic lesson of sorts . . .
I can't have tomatoes, or paprika (which is derived from tomatoes), as well as potatoes (which I love!), or eggplant, as well as peanuts. Tomatoes and paprika are in EVERYTHING! - including bbq sauce, which I absolutely LOVE! I basically can't trust anything on a menu- granted it's not a life threatening allergy- it just causes acne and my brain to feel a little off (equilibrium and vision issues) very annoying. ![]() Probably why I had a binge of sorts on all these foods I can eat- nothing sweet- but still, I was way too stuffed. ![]() |

Why is it when they tell us we can't have something we want it even more? I am sorry you are cranky, it will get better. Maybe try doing other things to get your mind off of it. I would worry if my eye sight and equilibrium was messed up though, because that could be dangerous if you fell and hurt yourself. I wish you the best and hope this passes soon. Take care of yourself. We are here for you.

I'm sorry about your food allergies, AngstyLady. Tomatoes and potatoes are two of my favourite foods too. I can totally understand the crankiness. Is there anything you can do that detracts from that when it happens? (the crankiness, that is.)

Well, I I did boil some rutabagas and turnips and mashed em' down and blended in some butter the other other day to trick my mind into thinking I was eating mashed potatoes . . . pretty good actually.

I know what you mean. I'm gluten-intolerant and have to avoid wheat, barley and rye. And wheat is in nearly everything. And I have noticed paprika being in a number of things while reading the ingredients for gluten-containing things. So, eating commercially prepared foods and box mixes of stuff can be challenging to say the least. Eating out is difficult. I'm a student and find I study better in coffee shops. That also mean that I'm faced with all those yummy goodies that I can't eat. It does get better and easier to avoid eating the stuff that makes us ill. Although at times, I sure would love to have a bagel or a cold beer...
