What stage of your disorder/recovery was it?
Did it help at all? How long did you see him/her? What was it like for you? When I was in the hospital 4 years ago being treated for my ed (and a boatload of other problems) they assigned me a nutritionist. She explained a few things about why my body was doing certain things, but I only saw her twice (other things/problems got in the way). Well now, (obviously) I'm contemplating seeing one. I have no appetite thanks to some new meds and I really do NOT want to go back down that road again, even though I'm not exactly upset about the weight I've been losing. Just wondering what it's like to actually see one.

I love nutrition. It even sounds tasty, too. However, I haven't seen one. Maybe I should.
People say I have a 'high metabolism' due to being skinny. It can come across as a bit of an insult, though. We all cannot be tall, short, fat, thin, or whatever. ![]() |

I saw a nutritionist when I was early in recovery and trying to gain weight. To be honest, not following ALL of her advice to the letter is one of my biggest regrets. She made a very detailed meal plan for me, according to the exchange system. Basically, it's a list of how much you need from each food group for each of your meals, so you just focus on getting to check each of the food groups off a checklist instead of counting calories and it's very helpful with dealing with mealtime anxiety.
